Can I tag along pretty please?

I bet a lot of work out there is how to do the absolute minimum to qualify to be included in ESG stuff.

You could come work here. We do a lot of work in making the grid more resilient and efficient. The organizations you list are also good! 👍🏼

We have an Energy & Utilities practice so 100% chance of getting staffed on a project in that space. If you want specifics on our pipeline we can talk via DM.

The better question is what skills do you have? To be brutally honest, unless you have the STEM skills to actually develop and/or implement a sustainable improvement, you’re not contributing anything unique.

EY has a great Climate Change and Sustainability Services practice, working with all kinds of F500 and government orgs on Sustainability strategy and analytics. I really enjoy the work.

If it’s regarding the “decent money” part of my post I’m not looking to make 200k plus. Was thinking anywhere 90k+ TC which I don’t think is unreasonable but allows me to still save and live comfortably in Chicago

like

Cloud Engineering and optimizing code, large Hadoop clusters, data warehouse management saves massive amounts of energy and resources also

A lot of large firms have a sustainability practice- I’ve seen a lot of postings from McK lately. As someone else said, accenture does as well. There are also quite a few boutiques. Probably very difficult to get into without prior sustainability experience tho.

Deloitte GPS Consulting has a new climate change practice they’re looking to grow heavily

Palmetto?

OP, what practice are you in?

I’ve been a mid-level manager (Sr Operations Manager) for the last three years. Been in my industry for 10 years. I feel I have plateaued in my career path. Hey FishBowl Friends, so I’m currently trying to break into tech sales/FinTech and I feel that due to my previous work history, I might not look like the ideal candidate on paper but I’m an extremely fast learner and very coachable. I’ve been a manger at a gym, got my degree in finance, worked as a client advisor at a top 3 auto dealer in the nation and now I’m a project manager at a solar company. I really want something that’s remote and steady, any recommendations on how to spruce myself up?

I feel like public accounting isn’t my calling, but I’m good at it and could probably make partner one day. How does one decide if they should explore other companies/roles and potentially find happiness/alignment in the role or just send it and stay in public accounting? I struggle because on paper industry doesn’t interest me since I’m a people person and not really a number cruncher.

Has anyone in small law successfully implemented a diversity recruitment plan for their firm? I’m the only female attorney at my firm, and out of 12 attorneys only 2 are not white. The founding partners have said that they are interested in hiring more diverse attorneys, but it is clear they have no idea how to go about doing that. Does anyone have any practical advice for making this happen? I am not a partner but have significant political power, and want to make this a priority. Thank you!!

Struggling to pick between offers from McKinsey and Bain in London.
Current role is in fundraising for alternative investment funds (esp impact/esg) but before that I was a maths teacher.
Would appreciate any insights on culture, types of cases, career progression, training & development and exit opportunities!

Also comp isn't really the main factor, but keen to know if anyone has any info on what the typical range is for bonuses at McKinsey as they didn't put that in the offer letter.

Looking for carreer advice. I recently was promoted as outsourced Jr. Controller after a being in the company for only 7 months. 100% remote which is nice, but since I am in California the pay is just not enough. I'm also not fully enjoying the work I do, as it is 100% accounting vs before where I did a hybrid withbusiness development. Yesterday, I found what could possibly be the dream job as onboarding new accounting clients manager but the company has mixed reviews. What would you do?

Have you ever freelanced while also being full time? I’m unhappy in my current job and I want to eventually transition to freelance full time but know I need to build up a network and savings before taking the plunge so I’m considering taking on some gigs on the side to dip my toes in. With WFH I have a lot of control over my time and schedule. Has anyone else done this? Did you go crazy with the time managment? Did you get in trouble with your full time or freelance agencies for doubling up?

We are looking to hire a FTE for systems integration. We are using Mulesoft as an IPAAS. I’m part of the hiring team. The pay is 6 figures it is fully remote, the benefits are insanely good and it can be your second job if you are very good. If you are great, it’s probably 15-20 hours of work per weeks. If you are good enough, I will even cover for you to coordinate with your primary job. DM me if you are interested as I’m tired of the crappy recruiting company we are contracted with.

Been since May 23rd that I’ve completed my background check. Called the 3rd party company and they said the background check has been sent to the hiring company for review as of last Friday. Should I wait another day before following up with my recruiter about the status of the background check? I don’t suspect there to be any crazy thing, but I’m just anxious. I’ve just never had a background check take at or over a week. Advice?

Feeling really lonely this holiday season and I think it's time for a change. I love my job but I'm realizing I devote too much time to it.
