What are some exit opportunities you’ve seen for tax technology besides tax?

I’m currently working at a start up for the last 2 weeks and not really happy with the role in terms of benefits and also the role itself is just me figuring out where I am supposed to be useful because they already have an outsourced design agency who is currently working on projects. I have an offer on the table to work at American Express as a UX Designer? Would the startup help fast track my career more?

I have a return offer from a big 4! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience as an intern and have no complaints. Would love to go back.

However, a bit confused if I should try and recruit with MBB’s or if I should accept the big 4 offer already and take the sign on bonus?

Would it be a blunder to NOT try recruiting with MBB’s ? Besides the monetary aspect, what are the other things I’d have to think about?

Please, I need your opinion on this. I have 6 years of experience as a software developer and just finished my masters degree in data science. Now I am looking for a job here in the US. I went through the hiring process with this company and finally got an offer. They offered 88k/year and I responded opening a negotiation. They emailed me back saying that I am no longer in this process anymore with no further explanation and in Thanksgiving day. Is that normal?that email really got me very upset

Got a call from a recruiter for Dell Strategy today - she spent about 3 minutes on the phone and said “can you provide me 4 45 minute blocks for case interviews”. I feel like she didn’t really tell me anything about the role (she emailed me a JD earlier), or comp. I was so surprised at such a short call that I didn’t even get to asking about level or comp. anybody else have similar experience with Dell?

I’m interviewing for a marketing manager role and after speaking with the hiring manger I’m being asked to do a written assignment. The assignment is creating 4 separate strategies around different areas. This will take quite a bit of work. 1-2 strategies seems reasonable but 4 seems like a lot. I asked the recruiter how in depth they are expecting me to to go and she said “as much as I’d like to. It’s up to me and what I see fit.” Does this ask seem reasonable? Have others experienced this?

Taking a new role in industry after 2 years in public. It’s about a 70% increase from current salary and between 25-30% increase from expected salary after promotion to Senior (find out later today what my new figure would have been). It’s a remote position making solid money and interesting work/field. Just worried I’m leaving public too soon. Raises will be 2-4% in new role until promotion so I will catch up in public about 3-4 years from now. Thoughts?

What is the best line of service to transition into from audit?

Would appreciate any input. My friend is transitioning to another job. She’s put 4-week notice in accordance with her contract. However, seems like her employer is giving her hell for such “short notice”🤷‍♀️ There are concerns for her due to small industry in this area. Potential retaliation? M1 in specialty tax group as of 10/1 and just got a second (& final) offer for a fully remote industry tax job where the base salary is $19k lower than my KPMG salary after taking into consideration the mid-year raise but still 6 figures. Industry offering a hefty signing bonus and is supposed to have more WLB. Also cheaper health insurance premiums and 27 paid days off. What would you do?
