I am also a Housing Case Manager at a small for profit company based in Eastern Washington but I am a Seattle Case Manager I make $23/hr. I also work as a RBT/CBT part time in Greater Seattle making $22/hr. I really want to move to Chicago. Can anyone share their salary? All the jobs I look at in my fields are pretty low, and I understand cost of living is lower but still

Thinking about my Roth 401k… I’m always gonna contribute at least 6% for the company match (that’s a no-brainer) but is there any benefit to investing more than 6%? Since my 401k contributions are after-tax earnings, couldn’t I make more money if I instead invested additional contributions myself through Robinhood and have the freedom to use/move it as I please? I could obviously spend 40+ hours if I wanted to be as thorough as humanly possible, but I'm wondering how often people tend to spend. 10 hours? 20? Any insight would be appreciated.

I see a lot of people making more money when they exit. In my experience, I have yet to find a role that pays more for a similar level of responsibility in a similar location. Current M in T&O at $153k in the Midwest (not Chicago). Offers I’ve seen at the manager level in industry in similar midwestern cities at the manager level are typically between $110-130k with a 15-30% bonus. Any advice on finding an opportunity that will lead to a salary increase, even if it’s only a modest one?

I have signed an offer letter with Google back in Nov’21 but due to the VISA transfer process and then RFE, it took a lot of time for the H1B to get approved. ($260k)

Parallely, I recently received an offer from Chime which I want to accept. They will start my H1 Transfer once formaities get completed. ($350k)

Wanted to check how have other people said no to a signed offer letter to Google and what happens with the approved H1B?

Is it rude/unethical to apply for a job with no real intention of taking the position if I get it? I don’t think they’ll be able to match my salary and I’d have to pay back my signing bonus but am curious what they’re offering. It’s a startup so there’s also equity involved which means I have no idea what TC would be.
