Would take massages off the list. I mean I love them but I’m a woman and my partner mentor is a man. Whiskey tasting though.

like

I would start by suggesting coffee unless you’re already very close. Definitely not massages

Massages??

Possibly taking a short (less than 1-2 hours) class for cooking, wine tasting, special food tastings, painting class while sipping wine etc.

Edit to say my partner mentor and I are very close, she suggested massages as a potential activity so that’s why I listed it.

Like a couple’s massage??

funny

Dont understand what the problem is…Im sure she didnt mean giving each other massages.

It makes more sense given OP’s update.

If you’re both women (and even if not) I’ve gone for mani pedis with my mentor. Massage sounds like it would not involve much bonding but I’d never turn down a free massage if that’s what she wants to do haha.

Any New York attorneys come across any interesting or helpful case law lately? Reading a recent update, there was a decision that said where a parent uses a temporary order of legal and physical custody to exclude the other parent, it's within the Court's rights (with other factors) to interpret that as an inability to coparent and award custody to the prior non-custodial parent. I am in a relationship for 3.5 years now. .
We both love each other. Used to enjoy the company emotionally and physically. We took it bit slow as it was 1st relationship for both of us.
For initial years we tried various stuff on bed and we both enjoyed it thoroughly.
And finally last year after 2-2.5 years of dating when we were comfortable enough, we decided to have sex.

But, after many unsuccessful attempts we discover that she might have medical condition vaginismus

CA attorneys: I have a client who got a court order that the kids are supposed to visit with him (kids are in another state) and now it appears that the kids may not follow the order, client already paid for their flights. Any suggestions on what to do? Ex parte? File the order in the other state to enforce the order? Hold the other parent in contempt? Thanks!

29F. I’ve become burnt out on spending my free time with people I don’t enjoy being around (i.e people who I feel relieved to leave after spending time with them). With that said, I’ve started to distance myself from my dad, 2 aunts, childhood best friend, and other friends. Has anyone gone through something similar? I just can’t get myself to muster the energy to be fake when I’m around them, but I feel guilty that I’m basically cutting them out of my life and am nervous I will regret doing so.

Are there any well-off suburbs around Chicago where there's a significant amount of black or mixed race people? Significant meaning 40-50%+. I've seen a lot of nice black suburbs in southern and eastern cities but less in the midwest. Need some feedback, I am lateraling into an associate role at a top 25 law firm after several years at government and corporate jobs & have concerns about the background check.

I haven’t made much money in the past few years and have accrued significant debt from credit cards & personal loans, some of which was to help out family during COVID. My credit utilization is at 90% & I’ve been making payments on time. Credit score is at 580 after being at 780 before law school. Will this ding me?

2017 grad so technically a 4th year. Lateraled to a CRE boutique in NYC that’s a major player. Learned quickly that my experience/knowledge/organization is not up to par (was a COG in the machine at prior firm). Just had EOY review and, though positive sounding, they’re dropping me to a 3rd year to ensure I’m not billing as a 4th year and able to do the work to learn/get up to par. I feel pretty okay about it (market salary deduction notwithstanding), but want to make sure I’m not being naive.

Hi! I’m a first-year associate working at a large regional firm. I attended a well-ranked, but regional law school and my grades weren’t stellar. School was never very motivating for me, and I put way more effort into internships and networking than my studies during law school. Luckily, I love to network and landed an awesome job at a big firm. Eventually, I’m hoping to work in-house. My question is this, will my grades always follow me? I’ve heard that with time and experience, not so much.
