I have a PhD in Biochemistry. I am interviewing at a small boutique law firm to be a science advisor for 1-2 years before taking the patent exam. The business is located in a high cost of living area, but my position would be mostly remote and in a low COL area.
I can find comp for patent agents in the area, but what would be normal for this in-between time?

Hi fishes, in urgent need of your suggestions.
One of my friend is having offer from Oracle Pune for software developer role in Oracle store team. but he does not have clear idea of the role whether it will be operations, support or development work.
Does anyone know what kind of work is there in store team. Also, is it possible to change the project once we get inside?
Urgent suggestions required...
Thanks!

It most certainly does. Data science programs are pretty bad, they just teach you how to use sklearn.
I start from p values and types of errors , and the ability to understand and interpret parameterized models. And the. The boosting bagging stuff. Hope this helps
Honestly, the worst is when they treat a package as an algorithm, e.g. I used Biriyani regression. (Facepalm)
A lot of times, in an interview case, a person will say “this distribution isn’t a normal distribution”. I usually ask them what distribution it actually is.
I also ask what a confidence interval is, the shit answer being “the range at which 95% of your data falls between”.
Have them walk you through basic regression diagnostics
@op Assuming you are preparing for an interview: are you going to be the interviewer or interviewee?
Keep asking why and how they think/decide on something. If they get impatient and struggle, I would flag them
Wow - that’s a good summary of ISLR 🤓
I appreciate that !
