Ended up going to Davis square and walking around there, but keep the suggestions coming! My friend also suggested JP and some nice restaurant there for a future date idea.
One suggestion i have is Central during the winter. They put up lights on the trees that line mass ave and it looks nice. The lights actually might be up year round. Dinner there and then a walk towards the Charles and you can go anywhere from there
