I think you should focus more on the growth opportunity and being able to put some hands on professional experience on your resume. I would ask questions about career paths, professional development opportunities, etc.,

I echo the thoughts re: focusing on growth and development. Ask about what kind of training you'll receive, whether there's room for advancement, etc. I come across too many candidates who went with very small firms and got stuck in their careers.

Google and youtube are your best resources

I transferred to USA from India with a consulting company a couple years ago. My role was primarily data analysis in India and now I’m in a client facing role with the same team.

Now, when I’m trying to switch I’m unable to get an offer partly because I don’t know how to structure case studies. Desi folks who work at Tier 1 and 2 firms, could you suggest resources I can use to learn how to interview, especially case studies? Is this something that you learnt in your masters course? TIA!

Does VP or SVP really mean anything in Talent or Business Affairs? Does it actually bump salary up significantly or does it just mean a free parking space that no one is using since we’re WFH? Genuinely curious as I see some people with VP or SVP that have less experience than many with just a Sr title.

Put house on the market at what realtor thinks is a fair value. So far (only five showings) everyone likes the house but says it’s too expensive given updates they’d want to make (they don’t say what but I’m guessing updating the bathrooms as example). Would you let the property hang out longer or would you move quickly to drop the price down? We’re actually not in a rush to sell but it’s frustrating hearing everyone else say their house sold in like a day

Having a 3 day weekend is so underrated. I’m not even meeting friends or don’t really have plans. But 2 days is not enough. Just having an extra day to do everything that needs done + things you want to do without having to be super stressed because you don’t have enough time. I did groceries, cleaned, went home decor shopping, started a new hobby, worked out and will read a book later and meal prep. Things I haven’t had the time to do in so long.

Thoughts on the mother of the bride wearing white to the bridal shower? I (bride to be) would like my mom to wear a white dress she already has because it’s flattering on her and has a similar style to mine which I think would look cute but she’s worried that she shouldn’t wear white and what others might think. Wanted to see what others think of this, thanks!

Currently interviewing with McKinsey & Company for their real estate insights analyst role. I have an upcoming case interview and I am seeking some tips. Are these cases typically related to the role or could they cover an array of different topics?

Treat the interview as a conversation, not as an interrogation.
👥 Interviews are actually two-way streets.
It’s your opportunity to interview the company as much as they’re interviewing you.
Too many candidates forget this.
They go into the interview ready to be “questioned” and reel off their answers to common questions such as “tell me about yourself” and “why do you want this job”…
And they wait until the end of the interview ask any questions of their own. Don’t give the interview power
