What are some high paying career paths that don’t require securities licensing? Will there be a roadblock eventually where a bachelors and no licenses can only take you so far?

Just bite the bullet and study and get your licenses, trust me

I failed my 66, most people fail, it happens. Who cares, but to make 300k + you need the licenses. Good luck and crush the exams!
I’m now a vp fc and still remember failing. A lot of great reps do well without the higher levels like cfp and ChFC, but it builds credibility with clients if you have it.

Not many. Most fields you will need a license to do anything more then stare at the outside of a folder.

Private equity is probably highest on the list.

What assumptions am I making a out your background exactly?

Not sitting for them in fact makes a difference if you take into account buy-side recruitment timelines. More accurately what you’re saying is bulge bracket and EB IB requires the licenses because they shove them down your throat as soon as you start. I’m not stretching any bounds, Im speaking off experience sorry I offended you.

Tech will be your best bet. Analyst roles, engineering, developer, scrum master.

You’ll be fine, OP. Just follow the instructions from the training videos and practice practice practice taking test questions. Read the chapter, watch the training videos, do concentrated practice questions. You got this 🙌🏻

Thank you! I need to get out of my own head

I’m a finance manager for a Global 50 company, with 6+ yrs experience. I’ve considered switching to sales, and curious if there’s part time roles (preferred remote) that I could try. Any suggestions for me? Companies, role type, etc to look into. Thanks in advance.

I have been in client facing wealth management as an advisor for 10 years. I haven’t built a book of business because I’ve worked for mostly discount brokers (Merrill edge, TDA, Etrade). I want to know how to transition to a non client facing role in wealth management or another financial role. I am series 7 and series 66 licensed. Any thoughts?

I recently quit my law firm job after only 5-6 months. I’m interviewing with about 6 different companies for in-house roles, many of which started before I quit the firm. How should I address having left the firm (if it even comes up)? My thoughts were saying that I was set on going in-house and I didn’t want to waste their time. Which is the truth. Thoughts?

I’ve spent 4 years in Big 4, with about half that time in FDD. I feel like Corp Dev is what I ultimately want, but am wondering if a stint in banking could be worth it. If I’m not interested in PE or other buyside alternatives, is the pit stop in IB worth it?
Mainly wonder if IB is a must have box to check, or if you can work your way up the ladder without.

Hi All, I'm looking for Product folks who'd be interested in chatting with me about their experience in Google, the products they work on, the journey into Google, what they look for while hiring, what kind of skills will be an asset. I am a Product Manager in a different company now, but joining Google is a long time goal, hoping to learn from your experience and align my learnings to be a solid candidate in the near future. Not applying now but planning the best way of getting there. Thanks!

I recently accepted a new role after being laid off. I feel really blessed to have found a job in this climate. My new boss is wonderful! However, the role itself isn’t in the direction I want to go. I’m struggling with feeling guilty for continuing to job search. Any advice on staying somewhere for a good boss vs. switching jobs so soon?

I’m looking to get out of direct patient care, and would love to find a job where I can work from home (even if that’s something in the future.) I'm halfway through a contract position and enjoying it, and would like to transfer to full-time, but I worry about the 90-day gap in employment and that I wouldn't be able to find the same position remotely with this company. (have finance probs I won't delve into now.) Not sure how to a) tell my manager that I want to transfer to FTE but do not want to move or b) how/when to figure out my next move. Anyone willing to DM/maybe give some advice?

What’s the best consulting specialty for exiting into a top tier PE’s Ops group? Should I stay in strategic transformation consulting or strive to get in M&A strategy or restructuring? I have 2 YOE, currently focusing on strategic transformation work. Do I need an MBA (non-target UG)? Should I wait till I get promoted to an EM before looking for an exit? Does being a part of PE Ops team mean pretty much being a temporary co-executive at a portfolio company? Feel free to destroy my naiveté

Hi all! I recently accepted a remote/hybrid RN position to try something new. Majority of my experience is at bedside. The pay is less than bedside (as a traveler), but more than a staff nurse. Hi everyone, I’m in asset management at a real estate firm with 2 years of experience in my current role and 5 total years of experience in finance. What should my comp range be?

Does anybody know what the typical salary range is and total comp for someone starting out as an internal or external wholesaler? If you are one of these, can you share about your experience in terms of whether you liked it or not, work life balance, travel, etc?

Is anyone else finding it difficult to get a raise this year because of market conditions? I moved from a business analyst role to a management role and didn't get a raise even though I'm taking on significantly more work. The terrible market conditions are what my boss pointed to. Is this happening at other companies also?

Anyone here a Client Onboarding Associate for an RIA? We have YE reviews coming up soon. I’m pretty sure I am a shoe in for a promotion, but in case I don’t get it (god-forbid), what is the going salary for this position? Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.
