Radical Candor is the basis for a lot of our corporate policies and methods - and I think it has been very effective and feels fantastic. I've been managing teams and individuals for about ten years and I feel like most of my 'best practices' have been shown to be terrible ideas.

Hi Ladies! I’m transitioning to a manager of a team I’ve been leading. There’s been a lot of turnover with the team and I feel like I’m having a hard time getting the team to see me more as an authoritative figure. For example, when I ask for volunteers on a simple task, no one replies. Should I just resort to assigning rather than asking? Also are there leadership books you suggest that I could read up on? Thank you!

How are folks thinking about permanent life insurance? 45, making let’s say for example (not my exact numbers): $1M per year, not yet vested in pension. Was thinking need to replace the post tax take home, about $550k NPV’ed at 5% to age 55, so that’s like $3.2M. Maybe pension is worth $2.5M so I think that means I should have $5.7 total you want death to have no financial impact. Also was going to do $1M of that in perm w/ LTC rider. Sound right?
