Congrats to all the folks who got promoted this year! Happy for everyone but still feeling a little blue.. was really hoping to make it to the next level this year. Looking for some advice.. do I slog it out for one more year in current big 4 or do I try to jump to another firm at the next level?
When your client understands what you do better than your team lead and asks to extend you and your team lead asks, why are they asking that? First time for everything...
So I am looking at data from Levels.fyi and the comp for Lyft devs is MASSIVE but I haven't seen any of it!
Very annoying with SMs can't see the bigger picture and get caught up in minor details of things that don't matter to the goals and objectives of a project.

My company expects me to work over 12 hours a day and I’m being asked to work the weekend constantly. Its making me extremely frustrated as I feel my labor is being exploited. Is it like this at other agencies? Has anyone made the switch to client side?
First coast to coast travel project. What time do people get in on Monday? Also, any tips on how to use time effectively on Thursday flights? Concerned that spotty WiFi will make it difficult to work.

Since George Floyd's murder and the sudden Corporate America "wokeness," I (black guy) have been routinely contacted by unacquainted Partners who explicitly state something to the effect "Client X wants diversity, so we'd like you on this deal..." It really comes across as tone deaf and completely patronizing. I appreciate the efforts to diversity (albeit forced), but Partners really need to learn how to not be so supercilious in the approach. You don't have to overtly state that I'm the quota.
Moving to Dfw area soon...checking out TPG in Fort Worth or Highland Capital in Dallas. Anyone have thoughts on either one?
