What are some newish when it comes to negotiating salary? For salary I use the following (and am always open to others advice too): - size of company - cost of living - the local industry average for this position - amount of responsibility in the role - # of people you’ll be managing - work/life balance (or not) - the team dynamic/culture - the company itself - level of experience & expertise - the full package they offer / what health and other insurance, PTO, education stipend, transportation stipend, flex WFH or not, phone coverage, equipment (computer, etc) - annual average bonus - what do the men make - ask them if you can, and takes notes - anything else I can think of I always say it’s not only about the bottom dollar but the full package. Health insurance is very important and can suck a lot of your paycheck while still not providing you with god coverage so be careful here. Even if you’re young, a pandemic or an accident can lead to long term medical costs that bankrupt you so choose wisely and be sure the coverage they’re offering is better than what you can pay for in the Marektplace. You do have the option to turn down company health insurance and pay for a plan in Marketplace - which in some cases, from what I’ve seen, you may want to.

You still have to live, and everything is über expensive these days. When you're having your conversation, use the fair market rate and role responsibilities as your touch points.

I always look at sites like Glassdoor to see what the range for the position I’m interviewing for is. Then I take the top amount and add 10%. They say women don’t make as much as men often times because we don’t ask for it. They will likely come back with a figure between the high end of what they’re used to paying and your figure. If you’re lucky, they’ll give you the 10% more which is what happened at my current job. So say the high end on Glassdoor is $60,000, you might ask for $65-$70k and see what they come back with.

I am doing UXR interviews, and although I read that a background in design isn’t necessary for UXR, I have been asked a few times now whether I have experience in design and can use design apps. I have applied research experience and a solid understanding of product development, which I think should land me a UXR role one day, but I’d to hear any thoughts though if you think design knowledge is necessary for UXR?

Hoping for some advice here!! I’m a senior sales person that just left my first job (where I was ranked top 10% in sales, worked for 5 years, qualified for presidents club 3 times & was very well known & respected) for a new company that will definitely be better, but I am starting over. Also, working from home for the first time (last job deemed “essential”). What are some things you all have done to stay motivated during the climb of starting over? Also when learning to work from home?

I am working at MSLGROUP as an Associate, less than 1 yoe , they have asked me to relocate in 4 weeks to the Location (currently wfh). Also I have an offer from one of the competitors based in my City. Relocating will shoot up my expenses and joining the competitor is kind of a downgrade in terms of brand. What do you think guys?

I rarely work more than 5-6 hours a day and I'm kind of dreading the upcoming promotion (aside from the money, which is nice). -Associate

SC to M, promotion in CBO. I was promoted to SC in Aug 2020, and milestone year shows 2024 (4 years). Is this normal I thought SC-M was 3 years and 2 for an early promo. Can anyone suggest if it's even possible to try to get promoted in 2 years? Just don't want to put in extra effort and getting disappointed later.
