Go beyond what it takes to get full match. Max out that 401k space.

Compounding interest works over time. Maxing your IRA each year is great but the real benefit is getting ~6% (average) each year on that growing sum. Basically set it and forget it.

So anything outside of 401k and IRA? Something like fundrise for real estate or stocks/bonds outside of retirement funds?

How do you guys figure out your spending and saving rates/goals? Obviously there's some common sense rules (max out 401k contributions, don't be so stingy you only start really living when you're old and rich), but do you guys have any advice for a 22 y/o on how to allocate my money in ways that'll maximize happiness over the long run? I want to build good habits early so it's easy to stick to them and would love any tips or advice

Want to move to the US - I have 4YOE, worked in a healthcare focused boutique and a T2 in London, UK. Im a dual US / EU citizen, with family in Chicago so looking to relocate nearby (either NYC, Boston, or Chicago itself). Anyone know of any interesting opportunities within biotech/pharma or elsewhere? I can move through my current firm, but would prefer to try something new outside of consulting. Any input is appreciated!!

Need advice - I currently have 2.5-3 YOE (depending if u count internships) and $180 TC. I’ve recognized the pay is pretty high and industry jobs won’t come near it for my amount of experience. If I stay in consulting another ~2 years and get to Manager level by then, would industry firms be more open to hiring me for a $180-200k role? FWIW I’m mostly looking at healthcare non-pharma.

Help with an offer at pre-IPO tech unicorn. Current: 112k base, 15k bonus, 3YOE Offer: 120k base, 16k bonus, no sign-on, 70k RSUs vesting 25% after 1 year and 7% each quarter after that. I’d like to ask for 135k plus 10k sign-on since I’m forfeiting 5k bonus and another 8-9k in unvested 401k. Is that reasonable? I’d be ok with 130k and 5k sign-on

I know this topic does not get talked about much but will eventually impact almost all of us so here goes. I am thinking of retiring (early) and would love recommendations for countries that I can retire to that. Primary factors would be cost if living, safety, warm climate, good health care system, (preferably) close to the US - not a requirement, stable government and laws, diversity in landscape (beach, rivers, mountains). Definitely not super rich so thinking of 5k a month in expenses.
