These are all easy. Case studies are hard especially when they make them quantitative for people who want to work in HC that mostly don’t have good quantitative skills.

like

Cases take practice; if you haven’t learned a structured way to approach them, then I understand why they may feel difficult.

Case interviews. Hate 'em. Other fun ones are "how many golf balls fit into a 747?"

like

Lol I'm being sarcastic with the use of the word "fun", OP. I can do them now, but God I still hate them.

funny

“Where do you want to be in 5 years”. This was posed while interviewing for an internship in grad school. I was barely making it through core.

funny

Who paid for your college education? I’m not kidding. I was actually asked that.

like

What... that’s a completely inappropriate question. I hope you reported them!

Describe your greatest accomplishment so far?

THIS. I felt like a failure 😂😂😂 not that I have nothing to be proud of, but gosh 5 years ago that was a tough question.

I have an offer from KPMG, and I am in talks with collabera, they are offering about 35% hike which will be 100% hike from my current ctc, while KPMG offers 65% on my current ctc. KPMG is a research and stakeholders management role and collabera offers strategy role including working direct with VP. I know the company is pretty small when company to KPMg, should I proceed with the interview?

In house interviews: I finished a final round of interviews and was expecting a final decision after the interviews. Rather than yes or no, the recruiter told me that the feedback is positive but they need to interview one more candidate to compare since I am the first one interviewed. And they wanted to add one more meeting with their new team member starting next week. Is this common and what’s the best way to deal with this unexpected message? Thanks!

I wanted to flag so others can know, I live in mcol and I just received an offer for 120k base and a 15k signing bonus. I have three years of experience. I asked for a signing bonus and a 110k salary. If you are a senior, you should definitely be applying and just see what comes up. Crazy the market for seniors right now

I wanted to post this for those who see and those who need to see: I, along with you, feel dejected by my current position. But I went to an absolutely no name school and could not find a job out of college for 5-6 months. Randomly got an interview request from PwC for a position I never applied for through LinkedIn. All this to say, everyones path is different and yours will work out how it should. Everything happens for a reason, assuming you always put your best foot forward. May we succeed.

How do you keep from getting discouraged while job hunting? I’ve had 3 final round interviews in the past month and gotten passed over each time. Their reasoning is always “we went in a different direction”. Each of the interview processes was 4-5 interviews so it’s a big time commitment and really gotten my hopes up each time.

I was supposed to have a final partner interview at PWC today and there was a no call no show from the partner then I fold up with an email to the recruiter and haven't heard anything yet, has anyone ever faced anything similar? Thanks

I know we all love the work from home (or do we?) but does anyone actually miss traveling for their consulting engagements and all the fun that goes along with it? The late nights at the office then the bar and random hookups and excitement and all that? Sure it’s a grind but I think I actually miss it too. Maybe I just miss seeing people at work or seeing people at all. I wonder if we’ll ever get back to that.

Me and my wife moved to US in the last few years and recently had a baby. Both of us work in relatively stressful jobs. I am having conflicts with her on how to raise kids - my wife and mil don’t see daycare or nanny as viable options, and want to rely on grandparents from both sides to help with the same. They haven’t seen too many cases of children going to daycare in India in their family. Who else has faced this issue, and any thoughts on resolving the same? This is causing a strain b/w us.
