I’m sure this subject has been talked to death but here goes: At what point is it time to throw in the towel and try a new line of work. I’m a 53 year old Creative who has worked at several hot shops. (DDB and Crispin). I’ve been a CD and went back to ACD/Writer to be more affordable and a better mentor than some of the 30 year olds they’re considering. (Some have bitten but never pulled the trigger on an offer). I did in-house pre-Covid and gone 75 interviews with nada over 2 years. Any advice?

I changed jobs twice the past 2 years, but ended up in my worst work experience ever. But I feel like I’ve changed too much now and that looks bad on the CV. I’ve had so many interviews and I am already way pickier than before. Before I would just hop on pretty much the first offer available, which I think it’s one of the reasons I ended up in this situation anyway. Now I feel stuck and don’t know what to do…fact is there is no future in my company for me. Any advice?

Why are they taking so much time?
Am I a backup candidate? Or is it because of recession?

My former boss is highly respected by everyone working in the finance profession. I am very lucky to have him as my mentor and a very good friend. I recently hired an employee of his company (w/o telling him during the interviewing process). He found out from the employee and he felt betrayed by me. I have been short-listed among 2 other applicants for a great UX/UI role.
The role is very UI focused, am a jr but the role is Mid weight, yet I still got through! Yay
But now I got an email from the interviewer asking for live links of apps and websites that are similar to theirs that I have designed before.. I am stuck... should I decline the interview?
