Starbucks and Jersey Mike's are pretty clutch!
Marriott is blah, and that's coming from a lifetime titanium. Yet I still use it because of habit and they have more properties than anyone else. I'm fairly agnostic to airlines, but the Marriott status gives me United silver every year and I do get quite a few upgrades to first out of it.
Delta. Plus signing up for all the airline dining programs. It helps to top off my account unexpectedly throughout the year since I eat out a lot.
Maybe if you’re not flexible. Granted in an emergency you’re better off paying with cash. But I’ve found some great deals. 30k round trip from US to Europe. 8.5k one-way West coast to east coast. And some other standard rewards for 11-12.5k one-way, which is normal for most other airlines. But the perk I like best is free award cancellation at Platinum level vs Exec Plat on AA. AA service is usually worse (was Exec Plat for 3 years). Granted some of their Award redemptions can never be beat like 6.5K one-way for some routes some of the time.
The best thing I would suggest is be loyal to Delta and then have some backup miles on AA just in case.
Alaska. Great biz and first class rates plus free stop over. Did 80k miles for Sydney to Hong Kong with free stop over then continues into lax all in first class on Cathay Pacific. Cash rate was well over $20k
Alaska is great, especially with incorporation into OW.
For most of us though American is probably a close second given the network and coverage.
For Hotels Hyatt is my favorite with IHG by far the worst
Hertz lol!
I'm Gold status and regularly pick up cars from the Presidentials Circle lot since they are usually out of cars at Gold lots
doesn’t necessarily have to be travel!
Dunkin’ Doughnuts...underrated for sure. Gotten many a free coffee through this!
Oh also forgot to mention Uber! 3% cash back on all Amex corporate card spend plus rewards for every $500 spent. Not to mention a few other perks at status levels. This paired with Free Marriott points on all purchases through the Uber platform easily elevates it to top tier.
Might be a company negotiated perk so I would check.
