Not for everyone, but I pickup freelance design gigs for small businesses, non profits, startups etc. Not always as consistent but some months make an extra $3-5k. Sometimes it’s for really basic stuff like newsletter layouts.
At first you have to hustle a little to find stuff but nowadays all of my work is word of mouth.
We also occasionally Airbnb out our basement - purposely bought a house with a separate entrance for that purpose.
It’s not always quick but sites like behance, working not working, thumbtack and fiverr can help you get off the ground. Sometimes they take large % your money but I use it for the introduction and then move off those platforms.
I find people to be very loyal when it comes to design - when they find someone they like they will use you for many different projects over time. They will often pass your name to their friends and eventually you won’t have to look much anymore - they’ll come to you.

I also serve on boards, advise a few startups, do limited GLG consults (mostly paid surveys which have a surprisingly nice ROI given how fast they are to take), and serve as an on demand paid expert for a VC group.
Boards can pay OK (I think I made around $12k last year but fairly limited time commitment,) startups usually just work for a small equity stake that will most likely be worthless but might not be, GLG ends up being a few hundred a month for like 30 minutes of work, and maybe $9-10k/year for VC advising.
Nothing amazing that will significantly change my net worth but I also gain some professional expertise and networking opportunities through most of them so it's like getting paid to make myself more marketable.

Getting a few grey hairs helps :)
My university has an alumni incubator that I volunteered for as an advisor. That got me into startups and the experience that attracted the VC firm and boards, and once you're in the startup ecosystem it's kind of self-perpetuating, but it may take a little time to get to that point where you're just helping out companies for free. Which, to be honest, is rewarding and fun in and of itself.
You can just sign up for GLG, they'll solicit you with opportunities as they come in and match your profile. Surveys are the way to go - GLG takes an enormous cut of client fees so even though I list my hourly rate there at what should be competitive, I rarely get picked for interviews because GLG takes my rate and basically quadruples it out to clients, so I'm not surprised they don't bite. Not worth doing at below market rates though in my opinion.

I'm going to pin this because I like reading the ideas people come up with but would also like to point out that you have a big shovel (hhi) so I would caution against taking too much risk. An investment in yourself (and eventual promotions/raises) may have a much higher ROI than a side hustle. Pay down your high interest debt, invest, and track your spending to ensure it is reasonable and you'll be just fine.
Raises/promotions are really at company/manager’s mercy - as we grow more senior, it may be more challenging to change jobs.
I sell weekly covered calls
PWC 5 1 - You can do covered calls on LEAPS (buy call options). They are called poor man’s CCs. I don’t like covered calls because the stock can pop at any given day.
Bank account bonuses - pull in $5-10K a year just moving money around

D10, most large banks don't require you to go in person to open a personal account. Some big banks require you to visit in person for business accounts.
Some smaller banks and credit unions will require an in person appointment to open an account.
I opened an e-commerce store. It’s essentially risk free, super easy to do, I love it, building residual income. And like Warren Buffet says, “if you don’t find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die.” My goal is to be debt free in the next two years and financially independent in 5 with my e-commerce business.
Great goals, but what are your numbers? Anyone can start, but making money and sales is the hard part.
Please share your details on monthly sales/revenue.
I make $700+ per week off crypto interest (Blockfi, Crypto.com, Celsius, etc.). Also I work two remote jobs, throughout the day. One hourly, another salary.
Those are personal choices that one should research
I finance and fund my little brother’s concrete business with my AMEX and do a bit of the backend office work at the end of each month. It nets about $75k a year from his net profit and roughly 2m AMEX points a year. All of his concrete is purchased on an authorized user gold card.
On average he charges $150-200k per month in concrete.

I pet sit! I enjoy it so it doesn’t feel like work and pays really well in my area. will be making close to 1k for one week of house sitting.
Hey D5, do you use an app so where do you find the gigs?
I have an Etsy shop. Also College advising to HS students.
I don’t do this, but many coworkers do, selling old stuff and clothes on poshmark.
I also sell on poshmark/eBay. I sell some of my closet, and flip higher end clothing from consignment stores. It’s not a ton of money and it’s not quick (things sit for 3-6 months) but like VP1 said, you learn a lot and could scale and optimize if you ever wanted/needed.
Not great for short term quick cash but easy to build on the side and can be fun
Etsy, and rental property. Want to eventually leave pwc and start a trucking business
What kind of trucking business
Bought 2 cars for Turo.
Net 600 a month. This is month 6.
Turo gives hosts a few options. For 60% cut from total fee(you keep 60%), you get no deductible. For 70% cut, a $200~ deductible. For 80%, a fat deductible. Commercial hosts with fleets typically have their own insurance, in which case the cut you get to keep is close to 90% or something
My favorite passive income right now is 8.88% on stablecoin on Celsius. Get paid every Monday and it’s more safe than staking crypto although I’m looking into that next. Airbnb properties is my next goal in terms of side hustles. Referral right now is paying out $50 in Bitcoin too.
Agreed - voyager is the way to go. Better APY.
