Idk how $1-2k /year equals 6 figures but...I have done flying weekly for 5 years and this year have been in an apartment in New York City.

I'd say don't get stubborn on points. Think about the cost savings in long run. If you have corporate apartment , you may get rid of your existing apartment, not sure where you live, but if you live in high COL cities, it will save you at least 1-2K a month and a year saves you six figures! That's very good!

Corporate apartment. I still get Marriott points and elite nights, but a fraction of the usual earning rate. It's still something though. I have a sick apartment in New York though, don't pay a dime. Still get per diem, and all travel paid for, and get to fly home (with spouse) on occasion. I'm living the dream and trying to extend as long as possible. My apartment is $7000 a month. Thank you client! I'm also saving so much money.

With hotel and flying you get more flexibility and points earning potential. Great for the bachelor life. Flex flying is great and you get to go home every week. For me it was great because I wasn't paying rent, as I just kept a room in my parents place (didn't make sense for me to pay for my own spot for 3 nights a week). After 5 years I built up a healthy point portfolio and am close to lifetime on Marriott now.

Having a kitchen again was worth the cost in points to me. That, and getting to socialize with people outside of work.

I'm in strategy actually. Typical strategy projects are short but I got myself on a long term one. All good things come to an end though. Have to move out by October end. I'm at an oak wood property.

How did you get an approval for a corporate apartment? Op? But I agree with sc1

I would say if you're in a nice city that you'd like to enjoy and immerse yourself in than corporate apartment all the way. Otherwise just take the points get in and get out

A1- what practice are you in? That sounds amazing but strategy would never do this considering how short our projects are

What apartment are you staying at a1

If they're getting Marriott points, probably a Camden or ExecuStay managed property.

Oakwood let's you earn points? I had no idea.how long was the project

9 months

Wtf you can earn points through oakwood!?!

Had a question- I pulled up my I-94 form and saw that my entry date was valid till 2020 which was my old petition. After that I had applied for extension and got an approval till December 2022. Never travel back to home county during this time. Should I get the I-94 updated with latest dates or is it fine. Please let me know.

My company misplaced my official approval notice since I transferred right around the beginning of the pandemic and we went into a lockdown. Lawyers and HR are saying that a copy will suffice and I don’t need my official notice. I’m still worried. Has anyone been requested to provide an official copy during the interview? To clarify I am trying to travel abroad for visa stamping and then come back.
