What are some proven things you’ve done to lower cortisol levels? I’ve been gaining weight in my stomach area despite staying active and eating right. I’m a pretty anxious person (and have issues sleeping) so I think this could be the culprit

You need sleep, plain and simple

like

Agreed. 100% had the biggest impact on my overall health. Sleep has been more effective at improving my stress levels than exercise or meditation

If you like to drink coffee, try waiting an hour after waking to drink it! Your cortisol levels are highest first thing in the morning and caffeine right when you wake up can exacerbate issues of high cortisol. Instead try drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning. I also take a probiotic on an empty stomach in the morning which also helps regulate your gut microbiome. I hope this helps!

Also to mirror what other folks have said, sleep and rest is incredibly important in order to support your training schedule and overall stress levels. Also if you are training quite a bit please make sure to eat enough food and get enough protein. If you are vegetarian/vegan there are lots of plant based sources of protein as well!

Cut out alcohol and switched from coffee to tea. But most importantly, cutting out toxic people in my life

Where you gain weight is genetic. I carry the last bits of my excess weight right around my stomach. A lot of other people don’t. Sucks for us it seems. There isn’t anything you can change about that. But shit sleep can definitely make you gain weight for sure… just in a generalized way.

On the sleep side… I take Magtein (NOW brand of it) which is a magnesium blend that Huberman and Attia recommend. Helps calm my anxious brain right before bed and lets me get to sleep sooner.

Hi! New Yogi here. I love yoga AFTER I’ve done yoga... if that makes sense. During yoga, I’m fidgety and restless and I can’t seem to concentrate. But after? Phew! I love the mushy, warm, puddle feeling. Can anyone offer some advice to ease my way into doing yoga consistently?

How do you know when you're burned out and what do you do about it?

I've been diagnosed with severe depression and just want to quit my job. I've taken a 2-week PTO but the prospect of returning back to work made it difficult to completely relax during my break. Quitting without another job lined up seems pretty risky in this economy.

Hello, I wasn’t sure if anyone could help as pedi is not my thing. I have an out of state friend whose daughter is non verbal. She is 3 YO but alert. She is going for a procedure and needs a Covid 3 days prior. Mom is terrified as her daughter will be traumatized by the this making it extremely difficult to get her to the actual procedure. I asked her if they could do a rapid but the hospital said it’s 3 days before because it’s cheaper. Any pediatricians on here know of a better way? TIA Karen

Has anyone had an FET cycle canceled due to high estrogen? My estrogen was at 338. The ultrasound detected a hormone producing cyst. Our RE thinks the cyst should be resolved in the next cycle or two. We've been ttc for our second child and it's been one set back after another.

I’m a petite woman - 5ft. Looking for an ergonomic work chair with good back and neck support, also easy on the bum. Have been working for 12 hours a day everyday since March.
