I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.
I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.
Any advice or similar experience?
So I just recently passed my CPA exams and I’m now looking for new opportunities. I’m hoping to work at a big 4 firm in tax and possibly connect with anyone working there right now. Please reach out to me, I would look forward to connecting and learning more about potential opportunities. Thanks!EY PwC Deloitte KPMG

Best recruiting quote I ever heard: “We can train you how to put together a tax return, but we can’t train you to be someone we want to spend 12 hours with during tax season.”
Culture fit. Plain and simple, doesn't matter if the kid came in and did the work right.
Unable to move from theory into practice; doesn't take notes and then proceeds to ask the same questions time and time again; no improvement after multiple coaching sessions.
People I interned with didn't get offers b/c they still had 2 years left of school (or so they were told)
1. Always on their phone or talking/ blowing up budgets due to lack of focus after being coached multiple times
2. Something being "Off"; hard to put into terms but a lack of polish, lack of ability to effectively communicate, communications and interactions were awkward. Said the wrong things and didn't seem to have a grasp of appropriate social interactions.
3. Didn't seem like anything is clicking. I'm all for coaching and investing in people and making sure they understand something, but if I tell you a simple concept in detail (a payment from blue will be in blue font... literally that simple) and you write notes and say you understand and 5 min later you ask me about it (what does blue font mean?)... o.O?! Were you not listening at all?

Bad personality.
We had an intern that was very awkward. It made everyone uncomfortable.
They did bad job, given we gave them multiple opportunities / coaching
Using our mobility policy to leave the pffice at 2 each day and not do any work... "completing" workpapers that were never really updated... kist not giving AF about anything and anyone.
Took 1-1.5 hour lunch everyday
Dude had a foreign language listed on his internal profile and the client had financials from a sub in that language. All he was asked to do was read it for general understanding and tie out the obvious numbers. 8 hours later he hadn’t touched it. Pretty swift conference call between his senior, PML, and local HR.
