Would this bother you? My bf has made jokes a few times now about me being a “boss baby” or “baby boss”. In actuality, I am a leadership team exec who’s moved up really quickly in my org and manages a team (in industry) by my early 30s. For context, I’m the high-powered career person in our relationship. (He’s hard working but a satisficer vs a maximizer). I view myself more as a badass boss killing it through hard work and strategic effort, so it feels demeaning. I feel unseen. Overthinking?

Does anyone use Public Storage in Venice? I selected the place as near my new place in Ocean Park, but when I saw the unit and the movers put my stuff in, I felt very uncomfortable wondering about vermin, homeless people, and theft.
does anyone have any recommendations on where to take my taxes for multiple state W2s? recently moved from PA to CA and not sure how to do them. Also have a 1099 from unemployment. Is anyone in her a bit further south? I'm in Orange County (but, of course, there isn't a bowl for OC). I moved here in October, and I wfh so no opportunity to meet anyone in the office. Thanks to the pandemic, I haven't really met anyone outside of work either. 39/f with a partner, cats, and way too much time alone.

What are you guys' opinion on living in Pasadena for someone who is in his late 20s single? Is the city too family-centric for any social and dating potential?
Would appreciate your thoughts on my housing situation: currently deciding between moving to a studio/1-br in DTLA or SM.
Any suggestions for good aptmt buildings in DTLA? Looking for $1.8k-2k. Lifestyle-wise I’m nervous about living in DTLA because I’m from NY and it absolutely pales in comparison. The somewhat reasonably-priced luxury apartments (with concessions) are what’s drawing me in.
For SM I’d have to go above budget (2.2k+) and idk if the beach life is worth the splurge. Is it? 🥺

Hi, do you know of any opening as a production manager making at least 120K? The environment where I'm currently working is getting more toxic than ever and they are expecting me to fill all the openings with the minimum wage. I've been in the same company for the last 7 years, but with all the pandemic still going on, nobody seems to understand that when you are short staffed is impossible to get the same results as when you are fully staffed. Any help or insights will be greatly appreciated.

Echo Park or Highland Park fit in your budget and are fun places to live in your 20s.
Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena if you are willing to live in the suburbs. You’ll get more space and potentially parking in that price range!
Not Burbank. Our building rents 1BD at a little ove $2K. One block over is probably cheaper, but a) no vacancies and b) decidedly lower quality buildings.
Same w/Pasadena. When we left, our building (San Pasqual and Mentor) was around $1500 for a 1BD, and that was 2015.
I’ve been in LA and worked at EY for the past 4 years. I’ve been into the LA office maybe 5 times total in that time span. (Even pre Covid was once or twice a year max)
Don’t restrict yourself by EY office location. You will spend more time at the client site or WFH. If anything you probably want to be within reasonable distance to LAX or BUR airport in the event you do have to travel.
I'll be also working for EY, female too. Which areas do you recommend?
Haven’t you heard snoop say
“With so much drama in the L-B-C It's kind of hard bein' Snoop D-O-double-G”
Why would you need to be close to the office? (Basically how often do you think you’ll be in the office vs traveling?)
For that price you may be able to get something in El Segundo (near the airport), Torrance, Inglewood, or Gardena (where I’m at and only about ~15 min to LAX). All average neighborhoods of LA have parts that are safer than others so I feel like you should really base it on how you feel when you visit and other data you can find online (specific even to like the 0.5 mile radius around the building lol). Culver City is also close and more trendy for an early 20 yo, but might be slightly above your budget for a 1BD/1BA.
Glendale. Safe, clean, great food, lots of stores. Yes it’ll take longer to hit the west side/beach but not enough that I found myself going any less. Very close to downtown. Convenient for things in Burbank, Pasadena, eagle rock, silver lake. And the Burbank airport is a hidden gem. Diverted almost all my work travel through there 😮💨
Only downside of Burbank airport is that it can be difficult getting nonstops to the east coast and midwest.
