Echo Park or Highland Park fit in your budget and are fun places to live in your 20s.
Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena if you are willing to live in the suburbs. You’ll get more space and potentially parking in that price range!
Not Burbank. Our building rents 1BD at a little ove $2K. One block over is probably cheaper, but a) no vacancies and b) decidedly lower quality buildings.
Same w/Pasadena. When we left, our building (San Pasqual and Mentor) was around $1500 for a 1BD, and that was 2015.
I’ve been in LA and worked at EY for the past 4 years. I’ve been into the LA office maybe 5 times total in that time span. (Even pre Covid was once or twice a year max)
Don’t restrict yourself by EY office location. You will spend more time at the client site or WFH. If anything you probably want to be within reasonable distance to LAX or BUR airport in the event you do have to travel.
I'll be also working for EY, female too. Which areas do you recommend?
Pasadena

Why would you need to be close to the office? (Basically how often do you think you’ll be in the office vs traveling?)
For that price you may be able to get something in El Segundo (near the airport), Torrance, Inglewood, or Gardena (where I’m at and only about ~15 min to LAX). All average neighborhoods of LA have parts that are safer than others so I feel like you should really base it on how you feel when you visit and other data you can find online (specific even to like the 0.5 mile radius around the building lol). Culver City is also close and more trendy for an early 20 yo, but might be slightly above your budget for a 1BD/1BA.
Glendale. Safe, clean, great food, lots of stores. Yes it’ll take longer to hit the west side/beach but not enough that I found myself going any less. Very close to downtown. Convenient for things in Burbank, Pasadena, eagle rock, silver lake. And the Burbank airport is a hidden gem. Diverted almost all my work travel through there 😮💨
Only downside of Burbank airport is that it can be difficult getting nonstops to the east coast and midwest.
