Taking Cara Babies! My 4.5 month old has been sleeping through the night since 6 weeks due to this course. He recently started to fuss at 4:30am but teething is coming with full force so I think it’s the pain.
Highly recommend!
Love the TCB class! Our baby is 10w old and she does 10-11h/night and takes a good 3-4 naps/day bc of TCB’s NB class. Just got the 3-4mo class. Possible your baby is late to the 4mo sleep regression? I’m not there yet but I’ve heard it’s rough!!
We did Taking Care of Babies to set good foundations. I won’t do CIO or formal sleep training but that course helped set the path. There’s a 4 month and 8 month regression but it helped me a lot to know it only lasts a few weeks. I nursed every 3-4 hours through the night until 7 months. (As late as we work at least it was only one wake up?) By 8 months he is sleeping through the night most nights. It’s a season and will pass before you know it. Lots of coffee to keep the brain working enough to work.
I know there are different points of view on this, but we did CIO but still dreamfeed before we go to bed at 5 months - just turned off the sound on the monitor and put pillows over our heads for 3 nights. We did the sleep training at the same time that we moved our twins out of snoos into cribs for night sleep (we had them nap in the cribs for a few weeks before then to acclimate). Worked like a charm and they went from getting up to eat at least once per night to sleeping through the night. It’s hard but it works and the babies are not worse for the wear!
We have done something similar where we did CIO at 4.5 months following the advice of our pediatrician but kept a midnight dream feed. We had one night of 3 am crying and then he was good. We are now weening the midnight bottle and will drop it next week. The pediatrician said at four months the baby should be able to go 4+ hours without a feeding and most babies can go much longer.

Moms on call
Another vote for Moms on Call, it’s the baby Bible in our house!
Chief
I co slept for ages and then suffered until 15 months...at which point he magically decoded to become a world champion sleeper...🤣
We did taking cara babies as an infant... then at 4.5 months we did full on CIO due to 4 mo sleep regression. You can google Ferber on how to do it. Took 3 nights for him to sleep through night

We did a form of CIO where you go in at increasing time intervals (5 minutes, then 7, 10, 15, etc.) but don’t pick him up. After 3 nights, there was less than 10 minutes of crying and he was sleeping 11 hours through the night. After 7nights, no crying, he learned to put himself to sleep. He’s 3 how and we’ve had a few instances of needing to retrain like after vacations and stuff but for the most part, he’s in bed by 8:30 and gets up at 7:30 (we have a nightlight that turns green when it’s wake up time). It’s not perfect and the first week of crying was really hard but omg I’m so glad we did it.

I followed Sleepeasy Solution book (modified CIO) at 5.5 months. It covers dream feeding and night weaning as well as sleep training. Highly recommend!
Thanks for all the responses! Also just wondering, did anyone take Taking Cara Babies ABC of sleep (5-24 month course)? So, to give some context, we did take taking cara babies newborn class, and that was definitely helpful. Helped baby sleep through the night most nights previously. A month ago, we moved her to her crib and transitioned her out of swaddling into a merlin. She did well for a few weeks and then started getting worse, probably because of sleep regression. Wondering if its worth it to do also the ABC of sleep since its not cheap, or just CIO. Also wondering if ABC of sleep overlaps a lot with the newborn class
I did think it was interesting that she says to stop the focus on eat, play, sleep and instead it’s ok to feed as needed to help fill the baby during the day.
