What are some tips & tactics that you’ve found to be most beneficial when trying to lose weight?

The book atomic habits is great, talks about very small tactics to help meet some of these goals

What works for me:
Drinking a ton of water
Not limiting carbs too much (bc otherwise I give up & cheat, cycle continues)
Focusing on eating fiber and protein first (helps fill me up and leaves less room for sugar and carbs)
Cooking more and limiting food delivery
Making time for at least 30mins of real exercise 5-6 days a week (less important than the food related steps)

In addition to all of these, increasing your daily steps. Walking more does wonders for the body.

I bought a huge mug (40oz) to keep at my desk so I can sip water all day. Makes a world of difference to help stay hydrated and helps avoid snacking when I really just need some water.

Coffee for breakfast
Fruit, yogurt, oatmeal parfait 10:30ish
Veggies & hummus 3ish
Regular healthy dinner
Lots of water
Workout daily

Hey everyone, I need some advise. I've been interviewing for a company for the last 4weeks. The salary was originally discussed as (say Xk) but the recruiter I'm working with said today that they "realigned the goals" and brought the salary down to (Xk-10). I wasn't even okaay with Xk tbh, and now they've gone ahead and reduced it by 10k! I'm attending the final round on Friday - do y'all have any tips on how I can negotiate my salary to X+10 and let them know that this is highly unprofessional?

I have been considering going back to school but I left active duty 15 years ago and my Post 9/11 expired this summer.

Either way, I'm curious if anyone would know why I only received 25 months of education benefits. I was 100% active for 4 years, 3 deployments to Iraq, honorable discharge etc. And wondering if there is any way to extend my benefits and get the 36-48 months that seems to be standard.

Does anyone have any advice for applying to remote positions? How do I stand out? Most of my experience is in healthcare, clinical and administrative. Newbie question: I’m looking to lose the last ~15 lbs and put on some lean muscle. Female, new to weightlifting. I’m getting a lot of conflicting advice online. Currently Im planning to eat in a deficit (CICO), and do a fully body routine focused on compound movements 3x a week. I already do cardio 3/4x per week. Is this ideal? Should I be lifting more? How would you rate your ratios for work, play, and rest?

My life's mostly been 85% work/serious stuff (includes academia), 10% rest, and 5% play.

I've only started to learn to rest more this year and learning to accept lower productivity (was part of the hustle culture).

Q: How do I learn the concept of play? Didn't have that in my childhood growing up. All serious, no fun. Has anyone transitioned successfully?

Asked for a LOA because I just got bad medical news and want time to process & find surgeons (I have to decide between staying in constant pain or being able to have kids one day). HR said it’s not a valid reason & I’ll lose my insurance at the end of the month if I take leave. They want me to use my 5 days of sick time & return to work after. I have an underlying autoimmune issue & need to save my sick days in case of a flare up. Ranting, but a reminder that companies don’t care about anyone
