Have you worked with a trainer?

^^^
You can work w a professional trainer but it’s A LOT of work on your own and follow up and constant work. They slip into bad habits if you don’t keep at it all of the time.
This definitely sounds like something a behavioral trainer should help with. If you are in northern VA I can recommend the trainer I worked with. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about dog behavior and hesitated to get a trainer at first but I ended up getting one and it was amazing for my dog. Expensive but 100% worth it

You need to work with a professional trainer. A lot of kennels will have these resources. My friend paid 2k to leave her dog at a kennel for a week where they had a trainer with her dog 12 hours a day. The dog is doing very well but she also had to keep up with the exercises/training to maintain the new behavior
We adopted a very reactive dog about a year ago and have been working with a trainer but we’ve also found that clicker training has been really helpful - these are my two favorite books - and I recommend videos from Kikopup on YouTube

I’m in talks with a trainer but am a little hesitant because I feel like I can put in the work if I know what to do. But from what everyone’s saying looks like a trainer would be the best route! Thank you :)

Even with a trainer you’ll definitely need to put in the work, be consistent, and reinforce everything you’re learning. I did remedial classes once in a while (pre pandemic) since my dog can be a jerk
