Before you go to MM, ask yourself if you’re prepared to actually do the work. It’s not like big 4 where you’re just a formatting machine. You’ll need to be able to think critically and play a much larger role on smaller deals than you might be used to.
I rarely have staff or a senior on my deals unless it’s a large one.
Usually just a Manager + Partner and occasionally a Director or MD.
It depends. Some managers are more hands-on than others. They also tend to do more work when deal flow is slow as they want billable too, which can kill the budget easily.

It’s firm dependent. Just ask in interviews if they have an outsourced team and how much/if they utilize it
We usually have a senior and associate as well as offshore team. Only time im really “doing all the work still” is if its like a rollforward and there’s been turnover or something, but even then would usually pull in at least an associate plus offshore.
Normally there’s always someone under a manager at BT we also utilize offshore for buildouts and more straightforward tasks
We have overly dedicated teams - it’s kinda wild tbh. Always a staff/senior, manager, director and partner (albeit minimally involved as it should be) with databook work offshored to India. Onshore team is entirely dedicated to the analysis
Thanks y’all! Was asking bc I’m thinking of moving to MM but was hearing from a couple of people that teams can be really lean (like just manager + MD/partner). But sounds like that’s the exception, not the norm.

It’s that lean a lot of times in the big4 too
