Currently in the interview process for a NYC-based hybrid (2-3 days in office) role in a nationwide healthcare company.

I live in Hoboken, NJ and when I asked about the salary range, the recruiter had to “convert it to NJ” because the range they had was for “downtown NYC”, even though I mentioned Hoboken is NYC-metro area.

The whole thing feels wrong. This is not a fully remote position, so I don't think the salary should be based on MY location.

Ladies recently started talking to someone new that I’m into, the topic of friends came up. I’m someone who’s struggled with making friends all my life, I went to schools with an intense competitive environment and any friends I made there were always looking to outdo each other so we all ended up drifting apart. Probably for jobs outside of FAANG - more like when you're feeling out the place. To me it matters a lot in terms of experience of it but also because it tends to show how forward thinking the company is.
