Just keep in mind the level of the card determines the flexibility of the equinox membership. I actually have the Centurion membership (black card), so I get access anytime throughout all Equinox locations, but I think some card levels only offer access to your home location, etc.
Thx for the feedback.
I may be wrong but think it’s only $550.
I just got the gold card (mainly for the sign up bonus) which is $250 a year. I already plan on upgrading to the platinum card (or the chase Sapphire reserve but I don’t meet their 5/24 rule currently)
The platinum is the only one with standout benefits. The gold card basically only gets me the 10% Uber discount and the $10 a month credit, barely anything as someone that hardly uses Uber. The platinum card on the other hand you get to use Centurion Lounges, Priority Pass, plus the Uber benefits, plus I think a $300 annual credit for use on airline fees (like checked bags).
Things like the rental car insurance are pretty standard on most cards.
Maybe look into the premium Chase cards. A lot of people seem to prefer the benefits on those.
Just checked, you are correct the fee is $700.
With all of the changes lately, it really isn’t worth the AF. The Chase Sap Reserve is better as the travel credit is easier to use. I’m in DFW, so an AA hub, and have the AA Elite from Citi for admirals club membership
Agreed, it’s only worth it to get the platinum if you travel a lot. It offers elevated status at hotels (automatic upgrades if available), automatic flight upgrades (I often get upgraded from coach to premium cabin and sometimes first class). Right now, they’re also offering a monthly credit at Equinox.
Just keep in mind when you don’t book a hotel direct, you often do not receive any hotel points or elite recognition.
I wouldn’t go that route if I was you. There’s a lot better detail on FB in the different travel reward groups
I really want the Equinox discount badly but I’m just not sure it’s worth paying the card fee just to get an equinox discount
They are also offering a 100k mile signup bonus which could be worth looking into.
