Toronto takes the L, not FDD. No way FDD should be making less than audit.

more interesting work (opinion), better exit opportunities (opinion). and total hours worked per year for me was higher in audit than FDD, it is a different style and pace though
If you want the opportunity to do something more finance based to FDD. It’s still a lot of accounting but there is more finance-type stuff that will yield possible exits to IB, FP&A, and Corporate Dev. If you hang out in audit too long you’ll essentially pigeonhole yourself for an accounting role for a while. Which is totally fine and can be lucrative if you enjoy it.

Not sure which firm, but PwC FDD in toronto pays atleast 10% more than audit, i also had a KPMG FDD offer in the past there is NO WAY it pays less than audit, i had toronto FDD offers. I also know many that left for IB and private equity investment teams (yes people in FDD in toronto can leave for PE. Unlike the US)
Doesn’t FDD in Canada open doors into private equity front office roles? For that reason alone, FDD
Higher pay. Maybe opens different exit ops? I’d hesitate to make the switch without the pay premium given WLB
Likely has to do with the hemorrhage of seniors over the past 2 years and pay increases to heal the bleeding, whereas there’s less demand for FDD services here
