Peace and quiet when you want it. Have company when you want. Live where you want. No one else’s mess to be around.
Plenty of other reasons depending on your relationship

Nobody ever finished the basement so they have their own apartment and back yard? Just me?

My basements nicer than the rest of the house and better than any apartment I could get. I throw parties here all the time.

+ You’re no longer a stereotype of your generation, and a leach on your parents.

- Less money to spend on hookers, booze and drugs.

like

Accenture 1 will probably be able to answer that. So Accenture 1, how much did you spend on hookers and booze while living at your parent’s?

You can do that at your parents house too.

Everyone does coke here?

Way more naked-in-the-living-room time

like

Hot take: stay as long as you can. You can do the coke/sex stuff later, don’t rush it

likefunny

Self pleasure without fear of knocking.

likefunny

That really depends on your parents.

If you have no problem doing lines of coke in the kitchen counter. Banging in the living room, smoking in your room, cooking steak at 2 am, and eating ice cream for breakfast... then there are no real benefits of movinf drom your parent's place.

I lived at my parents for years. To some degree, it limited my growth as an adult (socially, romantically, basic skills like cooking), but my financial savings (and lack of debt) are super strong.

If you’re a guy, you’ll be an ineligible bachelor to most women. Can’t say the same if you’re a woman (but I’m not credible on this)

likehelpful

True. No woman wants to date a guy who still lives with his parents.

Getting laid.

like

Ask your parents. I’m sure they have a list.

funny

None, stay there until you move on from this world. What a life!

Can somebody pls explain this to me: if somebody has a medical emergency and needs to use short term disability, the firm says they need to pay for all of their other benefits at the full rate, not the employee discounted rate, so like $400 for health insurance instead of $100. Do they ever reimburse this money or is this the terrible setup they have if you need to use your disability benefits? I feel like I'm missing something.

Hi there, I had a question about 401k or Roth IRA. Should I put money into anyone of the two as an international student? I don’t see the point because I want to invest my money instead of saving it. Plus I don’t even have a permanent resident status so I don’t know if it makes sense saving it for retirement. On the other hand, the employer match and so on sounds good. So should I save it and take it out later or just invest it?
