Wondering if I’m putting too much in my 401k, currently @ 85 base per year and hoping to place 40% of my salary for the next 2 months to finish maxing it out. I currently have ~1.5 years expenses and have maxed my IRA and HSA. Should I be hoarding more cash?
Moms who breastfed/pumped, why did you do it and how did you maintain sanity? Esp after reading Cribsheet where she says there may not be any lt benefits, 3 weeks in and I’m ready to give up
I’m a 28F who is barely getting into investing. It’s frustrating that it took this long but as a first gen college grad, my parents didn’t know anything about this stuff until very recently, so naturally I was never taught about it. It’s crazy to see people younger than me with all this knowledge on saving and investing. How did you learn so much at such a young age? Any advice for someone like me who is starting out so late in the game?
Why do people think $100k is a high salary in 2021? Intellectually we understand that inflation continually reduces the purchasing power of each dollar, but emotionally we seem stuck to this specific dollar figure being the line for struggling banking comfortable.
Why is being a mom and working in healthcare so difficult? I always feel like I am failing.
Hey! I’m wondering how others made the transition from patient care to the business side of healthcare. These past two years have made it abundantly clear that I need a change.
Can someone please explain why you need to reduce your 401k contribution when bonus is paid out?
Having an issue with direct 401k rollover. I had an after tax portion with old plan and my new 401k plan now does not accept after tax rollovers. The check has already been issued to a state street bank & trust FBO [my name] and I can’t reissue to a new bank. Any tips on deposit this check to an IRA? Can I endorse to another bank even though I’m only FBO on the check?
Hello! What are other benefits you try to negotiate for when starting a new job? Also what is the standard Canadian range for an agency producer? Currently on 85.
I would appreciate any advice or tips on certificates and jobs that I could use to grow my career in the healthcare field… primarily focused on wellness and administration. I am currently a practice supervisor and it’s starting to fill like my opportunities and pay will remain between the 60k-75k range without going for my masters degree.
Is it wise for my situation to take a loan against my 401k @ 5.5%? Hv 60k international mortgage left of 200k at 9%, can’t refinance here. Hv 32k in 401k, 25k In emergency in HYSA.
Does the amount of "Breakthrough Cases" rising among those fully vaccinated make anyone... wonder? Now there's a "Delta+" variant? Now they are saying "No vaccine is 100% effective so this is to be expected"? As if we're just suppose to shrug our shoulders after they have been pressuring everyone to get the vaccine? I'm fully vaxed but I can't help but wonder... this is what the Anti-Vaxers have been warning and saying the whole time and it's making me second guess which side I'm on...
Is it possible to negotiate a higher 401K match at a company you’re applying to? Or does it have to be the same for each employee? The company I’m interviewing with offers a 50cent match up to 6%.
Deciding between EY-Parthenon and Strategy& (same city) for full-time out of undergrad. Thinking in terms of culture/learning opportunities and mentorship/benefits etc. I don’t have a particular industry I’m interested in or a long term career goal yet, just trying to explore and learn. Any insights appreciated, thanks!!
Hello everyone, I’m a Human Resources Manager in Florida looking for NEXT STEP in my career ready for HR. Director position with 13 years of experience. Experience in healthcare, entertainment and manufacturing.
Help me understand this. From a salary of 120k, I’m getting a total tax deduction of 27%. That’s $32,400 going to the government. 32 thousand?!?!?! Do I ever get any of it back? Why so much? It technically reduces my income to $87k. Can someone please explain. I’m appalled.
I'm 29 and will have close to 120k in assets by end of year. I know everyone's situation is different but just curious how I'm doing compared to other 29 year olds! Sometimes I feel 'behind' when constantly seeing people in this bowl and other platforms talk about having 200-300k+ in assets and are like 25! Just looking for a reality check :) Where you at my 1992 brothers and sisters!
Cashed out my 401k yesterday and never felt so free. Was never expecting this to be real money
Big Law Dads: How much time do you usually take off when your wife has a baby? And do you actually get to take off, or do you just end up working from home half the time? My wife is due Mid-December, and I’m staffed on 4 M&A deals trying to close by year end, so it’s not looking promising.
