Is being from a big 4 really that big of a deal? I feel like there are too many of us for it to be a real differentiator for B schools. But that's just my thinking, never verified it.
University of phoenix
Under 700 you are SOL
Maybe you just know smart ppl? But it definitely make me feel better about my prospects 😁
Everybody I know from big 4 gets in top 10 or Ivy League b schools, so I think it makes a big difference
So when would you (all) suggest is the best time to go for an MBA if you wanna stay in consulting.
Always good to have 2-4 years of work experience before going.
Would you happen to know what kinda GMAT scores they got?
Pwc1, I know the Cornell guy 690 I think. The rest over 700 for sure
From what I hear, just the fact that you've worked for the Big 4 is good enough. Just need to make sure you have good work experience and awesome references, asides from your GMAT or GRE score.
Haha maybe, I'm sure their gmat scores were on point, or very least high 600s
@PwC 1 - it can make a big difference if you're high up and have a good network. Maybe won't help as much if you're a first or second year lol.
Also to note, the people I knew were in audit. one went to Dartmouth, one Cornell and the other Booth. I feel like advisory or consulting would have more weight
People that I know with upper 600/low 700 scores have been denied or wait listed and asked to retake it by top 10 schools.
Cornell is a big name and not top 10 school, so I think that's a good place to shoot for. Cant go wrong with Ivy
Definitely need GMATs in the mid to high 700s if you're shooting for a top 5 school
