Hi 🐟 ! I'm a senior in undergrad that interviewed through final rounds with a few mbb/tier 2 consulting firms recruiting from my school. The recruiting process didn't go too well for me overall and
I know the UK pays less but I am seeing differences of $80-100k for Advisory M at one of the Big 4. Why in the world are salaries so low? And don’t say healthcare. My healthcare is like $140/month for a PPO w low deductible. Plus taxes are less here. Makes the thought of a potential move over there hard :/
Today my friend at a Big 4 told me a partner tried to hold her hand in a car ride together. I told her she should speak to her HR but she doesn’t want to cause any trouble. Any similar experiences?
Please be kind, genuinely looking for help. Started my Grad School journey and really want an idea of the quality of school I can realistically aim for. My profile: M / 27 / AA 3.1 GPA Frm a State university 6 YOE (3 in Big 4 Consulting) Active in community Prez of a few orgs Frm Chicago 100% open to relocate 1st practice GRE: 304 (151- V / 153 Q) Looking to pursue a tech mgmt concentration.
Thoughts on moving from Big 4 audit to Financial Advisory? Pay jump would be about 50%, but the new firm is small. $25M in revenue and new office in my city - I feel like there is a good amount of risk. I’m a S1 about to be a S2
Currently a software engineer at FAANG (four years out of college) interested in getting involved in tech private equity. To reset my career, what is the most efficient route to get there? MBB -> PE?
Apparently , there is term called Big 5 and that includes MBB, + Accenture + Deloitte. https://gocollectiv.com/blog/boutique-consulting-firms-are-taking-over/ I am so Deloitted to read this article . Do you agree or disagree?
How’s recruitment demand looking for MBB / Tier 2 atm for strategy? For junior / mid level
I'm going to be going to MBB over the summer as an intern. I'm also very interested in investing and buy side roles - what are the options I could look at for full time coming from my MBB internship?
What's the average time from application submission to initial feedback (deny or continue) for MBB? Applied 2 weeks ago and no update as of now.
How difficult/easy it is to get a job at another big 4 company. Got 3 years of experience at EY .
Currently work at AWS in Business Intelligence and am looking to transfer into Product Management. Looking at MBB eventually. In my experience, most people from MBB have FAANG as their exit op. Why?
Question - are junior partners at consulting firms “middle managers”? Where do you draw the line at MBB, S& and Deloitte?
Generalist🐠at MBB: do corp dev roles at FAANG, or operational VC/PE roles, care that you were a “generalist” when exiting? I’ve been approached for data analytics roles at MBB (some specialized), but everyone tells me to go generalist when starting....
Something in my new apartment is making me sick. If I tell the landlord would they have to pay for an air inspection?
EY 🐠 - Are there any issues with dad's taking the full 16 weeks for parental leave? It says primary care givers only. Thanks!
How much of the current WFH measures would stick permanently in our working culture? With almost a full year of remote working, the sentiment seems to have shifted to waiting til the day we can work in the office again. Will clients reimburse travel as much as they did before? Will companies keep the same amount of office space or transition to a leaner and more just-in-time approach?
Second year who somehow ended up doing the acting senior role because we're so understaffed... There is no adultier adult
UNPOPULAR OPINION why don’t we not hate on every super bowl ad in our industry and celebrate the fact we made some pretty incredible shit during a global pandemic. The hate on this platform is wild. Oh and I’ll go first: I loved the Sam Adams spot and YouTube life in a day.
Looking for advice. I'm a tax manager that worked at both Big 4 and mid-tier in expat/mobility tax. I want to move away from tax compliance and more into technology. I currently use Excel and VBA for automating processes, and are taking beginner coding classes (Python, intro to programming). What career path do I have? I thought about quitting to do a bootcamp and work as a software developer, but is it too risky? Perhaps I can blend my tax experience and "coding" skills and do tax technology?
Does anyone here hold a non-CFA designation (CFP, CAIA, FRM etc.) and what kind of role/position do you have?
Just found out my firm bases bonuses on billed out hours rather than actual billed hours. Any work a partner cuts before the bill is sent to the client or any non billable work does not count for the bonus. I am not happy. Is this enough to move firms over? This isn’t standard practice as far as I know?
Assuming you are smart enough to do both (I know big assumption), are you better off being a SWE/data scientist at FAANG or equivalent level at MBB (based on YOE) from a compensation:WLB ratio?
ACN 🐠’s, what is your parental leave program? And do you have a leave of absence program for non-parental leaves?
Offer letter stated independent contractor with 401k eligibility after 1 yr. Almost 2 years in, just having 401k meeting after months of inquiring. Reviewed plan docs. I.C.s are ineligible. Thoughts?
Realized yesterday that in addition to the 4.5% back in travel points on my CSR, I registered my card on yelp and can get cash back as statement credit, as well as Uber credit from Uber local rewards
Are there EY-P TSE 🐠 here who are willing to chat? Preferably on the FS group. I just received an offer and have some questions about the team, culture, etc.
From a company culture standpoint, which consulting firms have the best and worst people
Does anyone have any insight on what is entailed during an “expertise chat” at McK in Healthcare Services & Technology? I spoke to a recruiter and made it through to the next step. The next step is the expertise chat before moving on to the official first round interview. Any insight appreciated.
Anyone in big 4 or consulting in Nashville want to refer me? Looking to do transactional or FDD work. Currently A2
Husband found out that his fed job that he was hired into with the promise that he’d receive paternity leave will not let him use his paternity leave because he hasn’t worked for government for a year yet. But baby arrived a few months before he started his fed job. Is he still eligible for paternity leave when he’s been at the job for a year?
I just started working at a Digital Strategy Consulting Boutique firm but the company is in Europe and we work in another language entirely. I started off as an intern (8 months) and now I am working full time. I am trying to learn the language to be more interactive with the clients and in the meetings but it's super difficult. Should I switch or learn the language and stay here for another year? It's a small firm and the pay is not that great but good for beginners in the country. Any advice?
What were all yalls post-MBA salaries? What do you think the salary floor should be to make it worthwhile? HCOL city
