I’m in a really confusing and frustrating situation.
We pitch and we win: clients loves creativity, strategies and ideas but they take forever to sign contracts. We currently have 4 clients on hold with approved quotes but not signed contracts. (One of the client is postponing for the past 15 months!!) They are not shopping around, they are not taking any assets or doing anything in house. Just waiting... I can’t tell you how much damage this is doing to the agency.
Any good advice?

Not sure about others but I feel like acct management can be a tricky side. Ever since I was an AAE up until now, I never had a manager who taught me things. I just learned on my own and went with it, made mistakes, learned. I sometimes wish I had a mentor or teacher who guided me. I’m already an account group sup but I want to do better and learn. Do you recommend getting a mentor?

I’m considering a position as an account director at a large agency coming from a media director role at another. (I’ve been client facing for years) are there any hard and fast rules of client management that typically media people wouldn’t deal with DTD? Note: this is more of strategist role and they were looking for heavy media experience but this position is unique in that it will also serve as the liaison between the analytics, creative, and media agencies.

Can you get to AD and beyond without a masters degree?

After a year at my agency (1st job out of school) I got an 8% raise without asking, but not a promotion in title. Very grateful of course but seems a bit odd and wondering if it could be indicative of anything.

Career advice that I give to the people I manage- do one more thing everyday that you weren’t going to do or didn’t feel like doing- for your team or for your client. Could be notes, a follow up, a reminder, raising your hand to tackle and drive something-whatever. That little extra effort against something you didn’t “have” to do, every day, overtime will make you invaluable

When a project is taking longer because of client delays, what have you done to motivate them back on track so the agency isn’t burning hrs/money waiting on decisions? Looking for contract details, conversation motivators, money/percentage threats, recommend moving to hourly after a certain time etc. any advice welcome.
