Once your income tax bracket is higher than you expect it to be in retirement (remembering that a portion of retirement $ with be at lower LTCG rate!),
Trad is better - assuming you also invest the tax savings it gives you right now.

As SC1 says, I also have Roth IRA, via backdoor, to be able to save more.

Buying rental property. Thanks to allowed depreciation, the cashflow is practically tax free!

My therapist just referred to the job as an abusive relationship. This is one of the more intense projects I’ve been on in my 4 years - not the most, but has been going for 6 months billing 120% utilization. Yeah, that checks out.

Planning to move to another state and buying new home there. Bought my current home at $500k where I live which now has zestimate of $620k. I don’t need money and struggling with whether to rent it out vs sell it? If I rent, I can get about $3000 but my equity will be locked . Shall I sell, get the equity and invest in market vs keep this home for $400 cash flow and appreciation

Looking for some direction. Just finished paying off my law school debt. I'm 29 years old. $40k in taxable brokerage account, $15k emergency fund (3.5 months), $20k in 401k. In September I'm starting a new job that will pay me $200k which doubles my current salary. Will max my HSA, 401k etc. But should I be making Roth 401k contributions in this tax bracket?

I was hoping to house hack with the goal of buying a multifamily, live in one unit and rent the other. Right now houses are expensive with limited multi-family inventory especially in Austin TX.
