BCG 🐠: What’s your opinion of Pia Tischhauser?
Fishes working in MBB London offices, what does background checks look like at your firm, for campus hires (less than 2 YoE)?
Do they check the internship, student club, or work experiences listed on your resume you submitted for your application? Or you can fill in the information for the actual employment (ie, minus the unpaid positions) on the 3rd party vendor they use?
Thanks in advance!

I have a screen tomorrow for a C&S role at Boston Consulting Group. Would it be worthwhile to get a referral at this point? If so, would any BCG fish here be interested in referring me to this role? Happy to share more details about myself and the role over DMs - Thanks in advance for your time and consideration!
Also would appreciate likes on my post so I can DM people. Thanks!🥺
So you want to work in MBB in the US without having gone to a top b-school and without US work authorization?
GL
Be realistic here, you have no US work authorization or studies and that school is unrecognizable here
Have a masters of science degree from UofT and starting at an mbb soon. US offices will not consider you for interviews unless you can get an ridiculously strong referral (eg partner)
I went to another firm and applied as EH and that worked out nicely
Thanks for sharing!
Think it will be hard tbh. I’m not sure you’d come in at the post-MBA level unless you have a lot of revenant work experience from before your masters. I think that school is also relatively under the radar in the US.
I don’t think you’d be a part of normal campus recruiting. I DO think it would be easier to work first and apply as an experienced hire, that’s a super viable option!
Nothing is impossible :) I got interviews at all three coming in with a PhD from a complete non-target. That’s a little different bc PhDs get hired with mbas, but just saying a non-target school isn’t a dealbreaker!

OP unfortunately, there is a distinction in target schools when it comes to undergrad vs masters. Yes, shulich for undergrad is a target. But no other program at York (including MBA or non MBA masters) is an MBB target. Your *program* is non target for both Canada and the US. It's harder to and interviews but possible with a referral and an actually strong resume.
I actually do have US work authorization, but I’m asking about landing a role with a specialized masters vs mba
Why not start with Canadian MBB and then transfer?
