AMH score is the best predictor of being a good candidate for IVF. Simple blood panel to test.

At my clinic, they like to see an AMH level above 1 for IVF

It comes down to egg and sperm quality. For women ages 35-39, 50% of day 5 embryos have abnormal PGT-A results, meaning they don’t have 46 chromosomes and are unlikely to result in a live birth. There’s no test for egg quality until you attempt IVF and see the results from fertilization to blastocyst development. IVF will compress the amount of attempts into one cycle and allow you to transfer a day 3 embryo or 5/6 blastocyst (with the option of having genetically tested it for aneuploidy or a specific genetic condition). Also among the tests you should have done are full spectrum genetic tests for the man and woman to screen for genetic diseases which may also impact pregnancy.

Key to know what EY 2 said, I had no idea the PGT testing of the embryos had such average low percentages of normal embryos. I naively thought it was related to genetic diseases before starting IVF
