What are the expectations for someone going into forensics from audit at a senior level?

I’m worried about the learning curve with working remote...anything I can do to better be prepared?

They will train you, so don't worry. One of the main differences between forensics and audit is having a curious mindset and working out the 'why' rather than jumping to explain away and saying that everything is immaterial or a one-off. You could also try the ACFE online courses.

I think you just vouch 100% of the population instead of sampling!!!! Good luck!

Don’t sweat it. Forensics is generally conducive to a remote environment anyway. You’ll likely be working with people around the country or world.

Even in the normal times, don’t expect anything close to an audit environment of a large on-site team of staff with seniors over their shoulders. Be creative, confident, and use this as an opportunity to develop a broad network.

Wait so seniors won’t be all over my shit all the time?!

You: “But these items aren’t material?”
Everyone: “Materiality? Whats that?” 😂😅😅

You’ll be fine. As noted elsewhere you already have a solid foundation. Critical thinking and diligence is what counts.

helpful

Difference is forensics requires critical thinking and not just repeating exactly what was done the prior year
