If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. I’ve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.

Realize that essentially have “busy season” like hours every quarter and month end close is probably 50hours/ week.
Advisory is not less hours than audit.. it’s more..
I doubt anyone can answer this without more information. It’s going to vary widely depending on the company and industry.

That doesnt stop people from giving personal experiences does it?
Maybe it’s less about hours and more about meeting reporting deadlines
yes but hours do matter in PA (aka timesheets and budgets) I switched to industry recently & no one cares how many hours I work. So to answer OP it’s hard to quantify hours. The expectation is however long it takes to meet the deadline
I can answer this as someone in one of the more busy “FR spaces”. It’s pretty chill out of the busy season and during would be like 60ish. For our managers the hours come from pretty much having to wait all day after your meetings to do your review.

Gonna vary widely. I’ve worked in a PE owned company and the mgr of fin rptg worked a ton of hours for quarter end and year end. Same as the public co I work for now.

Like 60+ hr weeks for a couple weeks but pretty chill the other 40 weeks out of the year
Depends on team size. One company I was 70-80 a week for qtr and year end as the sr/main preparer and my manager was working similar. My current company is closer to 50/60 a week but I have a larger team under me.
