I think that’s an advantage of consulting that you can rebuild teams and reputation. One project will really not matter, don’t stress about it. Keep your coach aware and ready with a story.
Yes... I was not officially kicked off, just gently rolled off. It was honestly for the best. I was underperforming due to team dynamics and as soon as I picked up another project with another team, I had no issues.

Wish I could kick off my teammate here unfortunately she’s golden girl of the firm

So tempted to drop her name here so nobody would hire her ever do the world massive favor lol
The quicker off and onto something else, the better. Bad review after 2 weeks is different than a bad review after 6 months on a team.
agree with all of the above. i was kicked off a project after 1 month (was supposed to be there for the full 3 month project) but it wasn’t a trend - did pretty well in my next project and got a first year promotion. you just need to show that you learned/grew from that experience lol
Once? No big deal. 3×+? It's a pattern... You're the problem
Yes. Damage control: let your coach know and paint the team you are leaving in the worst possible light. Good coaches can cover this up with broad brushstrokes of “project wasn’t a good fit, etc.”
@ senior consultant 1 what? Don’t throw people under the bus. That is terrible advice. Take ownership that it was not a good fit and just move on.
