Currently work as a VP of Sales with 15 YOE. Im managing a large team and revenue target for a growing business. The money is good but I can’t help this nagging feeling of doing something else. What options are there to move into consulting but not the typical post-MBA consulting role? For example I know McKinsey has their implementation business where they’ll hire experienced sales and marketing execs. What other opportunities are out there? Is the pay good? What’s the WLB like?

Big law associates, how long did it take you to pay off your student loans on a big law salary? If comfortable sharing, how much student debt did you have when you started in big law? Did you focus on paying off the loans first, or did you contribute to your 401(k) at the same time?

Any Private Organization will go for lay-off if they are not generating profit(Even Netflix). Remember, all Tech Giants today we see were once a startup.
Why I preferred StartUp --> because developing from scratch is not possible in most organizations but StartUp and I preferred "learning and Money" more than "WLB and stability" at this age. If the question will be asked after 5 years from now, I may have preferred less salary and More WLB, but that is not the scenario right now.

I am currently working in a leading architecture and design firm for almost a year now. I have 3 years of experience. When I started in this firm I was told that they will reconsider my position in sometime. I recently asked HR regarding salary review, but he denied and said they are not considering anymore salary this year and next salary considerations would be in Q1 of next year(6 more months). I was offered X$ as a salary for a supervisor role. I asked for 10k more as a counter and received a greater breakdown of the correct pay being offered. With bonuses and shift diff it comes to maybe 5k more. That is only if the bonuses and overtime bonuses kick in. Do I still go with my original counter? This is very confusing for me.

Hello! I was recently contacted by tech recruiters for PMM roles and they both shared job descriptions for 12 months contract coming with a fixed salary. I was wondering if there would still be room for negotiations during interviews with hiring managers or these recruitment agencies are supposed to hire contractors within the budget. What are the usual compensations you can negociate when you are not directly contacted by the client? Is limited to salary & bonuses?

I’m curious to other’s experiences in negotiating outcomes. There is a job I really want, but would need 25%-30% than what they offered for it to make sense.
