What are the legal implications of making your start date the same as your last day with the current company (eg both on Aug 1). Primarily interested to keep healthcare coverage for the month or august without having to sign up for cobra. Current company is in industry. New company is a consulting firm.

When I left my last company, health coverage was good through the last day of the month. Might be true for your current firm too

like

If I make my last day end of July I don’t get coverage for August. And chances are great if I start with new company Aug 1 the insurance doesn’t kick in until beginning of sept. Hence the gap

Also curious as I want to double dip in order to get a bonus coming up

Don't most places give you insurance for the full month even if you quit in the middle? Also, I believe COBRA can be retroactive, so if you need to bridge a few weeks, you don't have to sign up unless you actually need it.

At my old company my insurance ran out on my last day. Not sure about yours or the legal implications. If it’s by month then couldn’t you just ask to push your start date up one day? I also think the insurance is retroactive for the new job so you’d just have to pay out of pocket and then file when you get your new card if you have any claims in between.

Mine was retroactive to the start date at my new company. Not sure about other companies. You should ask HR.

Had a my 7 week ultrasound today, confirming I’m PREGNANT after my second medicated IUI!!!! So happy to have heard that heartbeat. There were some oddities on the ultrasound- wondering if any of you have experienced any/all of these and how it worked out (doc didn’t sound alarms, just said we’d keep an eye, but naturally I’m worried):
1. Grapefruit sized cyst on right ovary 2. Unknown object with no heartbeat (maybe a hematoma) in the gestational sac with my baby 3. An empty gestational sac

Hello,

I am currently a Health Admin Fellow at a leading healthcare system. I am in a phase during my fellowship where I will have to start searching for a role within the system in the next 3 months.

I was wondering what kind of role would be best step forward for an admin fellow.

I was offered a project coordinator role but feel I should not accept the same without looking at other options. I aim to seek out a project manager role and was wondering if this would be the wrong step forward.

Do you feel like women are underrepresented in the insurance industry? I work with a ton of great women and didn't really think much about it until I spoke to a friend who also works in office, she says there are like 5-10 female employees out of over 100 CSM's. If you think there are less women in insurance than men, why do you think that is?

Hi,
just wanted your suggestions,
I have 4.2yrs of experience with 14.9ctc in same company without switch.
Now as I have taken permanent work from home due to location issue, they are reducing my package by 13%, so from next month CTC will be 13.7,
Currently I have TCS offer of 16.7CTC.
Is it worth going to TCS, as I have heard they dont give much hike, if I stay in current company in 2years I will reach the package TCS is giving me.

I would like to hear your thoughts and opinions here.

Anyone experienced this ? Any problem joining while check is processing ?
