Something that frustrates me in collaborating with others is that I've found others tend to prefer 'yes-anding' and building off a single idea, whereas I prefer to explore a range of ideas/solutions first, then evaluate/build. I often get frustrated because I'll feel we've done insufficient exploration and while our output is collaborative it's not as good as it could be. My boss is a smart rainmaker for the organization. But she bullies people to get her way and doesn’t let people express their opinions. She is very high up and I don’t know what to do. I don’t trust HR and fear it getting back to her and the retribution.

I am a field marketer. I travel and cover 12 states. HQ is across the US on the east coast. My manager put a surprise calendar invite twice now to go to home office without consulting dates to see if we were available. I stood up and asked to be included on available dates and said I will attend virtually but asking me to be away for 4 additional full days away from my family without asking me is not OK. I already travel a lot and this boundary is super important to me. Am I right or wrong?

Currently at 120k in a MCOL w/no income tax, if I stay earning potential can easily double in 1-2 years but work 80+ hours and people are all miserable. I have an offer for the same comp, love the people and would be max working 60 hours but only when it’s super busy but normally 40-50 hours; earning potential in 1-2 would probably be 150-175k. Staying in would help getting to FIRE but feel like it’s not worth it. Thoughts?
