Poor attitude, not being a team player, not listening to advice from fellow FYs, seniors, or managers. I saw one get fired just recently. But all firms believe they should give all FY a chance unless the situation is that bad which I guess it was
I've never seen one get fired. If it's really bad, they usually quit.
I'm in a small group with about 15 campus hires every year. Two people got fired/coached out right after the first year. An experienced hire who came in as a first year got fired within 6 months. But they all knew it was coming.
Sorry I guess I didn't answer the question - it was mostly performance issues plus something else. Usually as associates you don't get fired for just performance. They let you stay and coach you or put you on a different type of project. The people I've seen usually have low performance and some other problem, like refuse to work more than 8 hours a day, or offend the client contacts etc.
