How can someone rejoin tcs
Tech Mahindra Hey guys, I attempted Hackathon by tech Mahindra (for jr java developer 1-3 yr exp). After 3 days I received a call from hr confirming that I have been shortlisted and took hr round on that call. Later I received a document verification mail asking for all essential docs which are required for joining, but didn't received any offer letter yet. When I cross checked mail address with my friend in tech Mahindra, he confirmed that such hr exists with same e-mail id. Is it normal in tech Mahindra?

Amazon out of big tech has the largest footprint so they’re doing the most as far as renewable energy and green tech in facilities and recyclable materials. Software to reduce energy consumption and materials usage is another focus area.
Still planes, trucks, boats and all things logistics are going to have an impact. If you are looking for tech like carbon capture, renewable/solar then smaller companies and research institutions are going to be more focused here.
Well it’s a reduction in total emissions but the idea of net zero doesn’t seem realistic in this business model.
I really hope tech steps up to help tackle it but for now it seems the best we’re getting is an array of new apps that tell you when the next catastrophic storm is on its way. 🥴
The dramatic increase in the number of apps that track the effects of climate change is… concerning. If we monetize tracking the progression of climate change it is literally the opposite of helping.
I’m jaded too. So very jaded. 😅
Maybe not the opposite... I view the main impediments to combating climate change as political, driven my both misinformation, and the reality of most people's reluctance to significantly change their lifestyles.
In that context, if apps increase the public's awareness & concern about climate change, that is helpful.
If only the billionaires would stop dumping all of their money into their crotch rockets into outer space and would focus on these issues instead.
1. I would say space exploration should be very high on our list of priorities. Technological spillover, mineral extraction, scientific advancement, all matter a lot. The spillover part should help significantly with climate change reduction IMO.
2. All the societal problems everyone brings up that should be solved first are usually (1) more political than scientific, and (2) cost 10-100x more than space exploration does. Even 100% appropriation of billionaire wealth won’t fund universal healthcare for more than a year, or overcome NIMBYs in Nevada blocking solar panel fields, etc.
3. Most of the complaints about space exploration are actually just complaints about rich people, which IMO is the dumbest modern trend. Rich people funding cool shit is how half the great things about modernity were built. We should be happy that SpaceX forced the corrupt Boeing-NASA complex to actually be competitive, instead of endlessly burning money on nothing.
Have you heard of Climatebase for finding roles at climate/environment related companies?
Ecosia is a search engine that uses ad revenue to plant trees where they are needed
One thing I can't understand- with all the Initiatives around planting new trees- who is taking care of those over the years. That is really expensive, but planting and not knowing what happens afterwards, doesn't make sense either.

Probably Tesla, or companies related to clean energy production or food production.
A1 how could you say it’s not greener when electric cars use that energy significantly more efficiently? Not to mention their entire solar division and influence on EVs being forced into production by every major company on the market.
Please don't work for Tesla or Amazon 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

I think all of the big tech firms are making strides here. Or at least G is. But if you want to work on one of the internal teams making the actual change that is going to be hard. I had a colleague who joined in 2018 and had to wait 3 years for an internal position to open up. Took a long time but she is doing amazing work and has a lot of personally fulfillment :-)
Damnnnnnnn. Had you said otherwise, I would've LC'd until my eyes bleed.

I work at Uplight, a Colorado-HQ'd tech company working on tech solutions for utilities to move decarbonization forward. Also a B Corp (like Etsy). We're hiring like crazy, especially in Product and Engineering roles. https://uplight.com/careers/
I'm also a big fan of Aurora Solar, a company that makes design software for solar PV systems. I used to work in the solar industry and used their product and totally loved it. https://www.aurorasolar.com/
I love that we have launched Product Footprint Management as a solution for companies. In general I see a lot of focus on sustainability solutions at SAP.

Check out Charm Industrial - I believe they are still in startup stage though. Not sure what kind of roles are open right now.
Never heard of them, but I like the mission. Shame I don't have a hardware background.
Maybe Rivian? I love the car and truck. It seems like most people are happy there and actually productive
