What are the odds Japan will be open in January? Dayton Ohio to Tokyo, $285 roundtrip I kid you not

Even at 25% odds, that’s worth the gamble.

Thanks for sharing, I just booked this! Easiest decision I made today

like

I'd drive to Dayton to take that flight.

like

Only 2.5 hours, not bad!

It’s funny how that flight has a layover in Dallas but if you fly nonstop from Dallas it’s $890 round trip

likefunny

Sounds about as ass backwards as the people scheduling military chartered flights when I was on active duty

Wow. That wouldn’t even cover the costs of getting your through the airport lol let alone back and forth to Japan.

I’m based in Japan. January is possible but not probable. Vaccine timeline is extremely slow. Also a general feeling by many here that Covid is a foreign problem and therefore keeping foreigners out is a great strategy - and this line of thinking has clearly shaped government policy thus far (olympics excluded).

Locally, there is a lot of worry about the negative coverage of it as they see it being further harmful to the farmers and fishermen in the Fukushima prefecture. These workers have suffered immensely and that has only been exacerbated by the stigma placed on the prefecture and the decrease in demand it has caused for their food products (the livelihood of many people). The latest developments are seen by many as another unfortunate outcome as, although the scientists are saying this won’t be harmful to the local food products, the negative press (most of it not science based) only increases that stigma and will lead to further decreases in demand and more lost jobs for communities that are already struggling.

Worth the gamble at that price.

Unlikely given Japan’s current pace of vaccination

Great find. I once went to China from NYC roundtrip for $280 pre-tax. Was random searching and booked it on the spot when I saw the price.

Japan is amazing! Let us know if you need recs 😊

my $1500 round trip tickets are crying

But also for that price it’s worth the risk. Japan is absolutely amazing.

Hello, I just had to vent a little and maybe ask for your opinion. So I’ve been working at my job for four years now and I’ve never gotten a promotion. On top of this, I do extra duties that my coworkers don’t do and struggle with the work load. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of and am not sure what to do. I feel like going to my boss and refusing to continue to do these extra tasks without extra compensation. Am I being a baby about this?

Hi. I have very low AMH, 36 years old & never have been pregnant. I have done 2 IVF cycles this year approx 5 months apart. Each time had only 2 eggs retrieved, 1 fertilization each which lead to the embryo reaching blastocyst stages both times & both came back normal after genetic testing 🤍 talk about beating the statistics odds! 🤞🏻 I now have 2 cutie embryos saved. My husband & I would love to have twins and will be speaking to my doctor about the best options. Twins thoughts?

I found some extremely provocative and inappropriate TikTok’s of my cousin’s kid today (8 years old). I’m genuinely concerned. My first instinct was to call my cousin (whom I’m close with, like a sis) and tell her but after giving it some time, I’m on the fence. About a year ago, I found inappropriate TikTok’s of a close friend’s kid and told my friend as soon as I found out. She sounded appreciative that I let her know but TBH, our relationship hasn’t been the same and we rarely talk anymore.

Has anyone here used the "Read Scripture" app? It goes through the entire Bible and includes accompanying summary videos from "The Bible Project" (whose videos can also be found on YouTube). I love how it groups portions of Scripture and the videos are helpful for making meaningful connections with the text. I love these for myself, but they're super kid-friendly, too. Excellent support for your daily study. Enjoy!
