Thanks for the motivation!

Of course you can. I was hired as an experienced hire, my GPA is hilarious.

Love that mentality. I’ll be there soon too

Wonder if it matters if it’s 2.9 from Princeton or 2.9 from Phoenix 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️

What factors would you consider for staying back at your firm if they almost match the offer? Key differences - 1. New firm has a bigger brand value. Hikes and growth not good in the new firm. If I stay back I’d have the same scenario in current firm as well.

Need some advice! I'm a recent PhD grad (30 yo) in STEM, and just got some offers from different companies. Particularly, two of them are interesting to me. 1) from a Energy Market Company in Pennsylvania as an Operations Research Scientist, 95k + 15% bonus + very good benefits and generous PTO. It's a very chill job (9-5) with good people but limited opportunity to growth. 2) from a consulting company in NYC as a data science consultant, 130k + 10k signing bonus. Which one you choose? why?

A question for recruiters. When you call someone asking them if they are interested in an opportunity and then ask them for a technical interview the next day and they ask for an extension does it impact their application? Recently it has happened to me twice that recruiter calls, he has my details and asks if I’m interested and then ask for same day or next day interview. And when I apologize since I actually have job to take care as well they just ghost me. Is this something that’s normal?

At first he was 100% ok with me being fully remote but now he is discussing dropping my pay 50% to allow me to be remote. Like no... am I right to consider that absolutely wrong given that I would be doing literally the same job I have been doing and putting in the same hours as anyone else? I was remote already throughout Covid so idk what the issue is now
