Hi ladies - has anyone taken an extended maternity leave (longer than the traditional leave offered by your firm)? If so - how long did you take? What level were you and do you feel it impacted your progression?

I am almost done with FNP and I am so sick of patients now. I've been in healthcare for almost 20 years and it is what I know, but the pandemic has burnt me out so much. What about corporate wellness jobs? Has anyone gone there? Or gotten a job for a federal agency (not the VA, I don't want to work with patients)? How does one "break into management" if you're over 40?

Recently received an offer from epam systems india, I have gone through the leave policy and no where it is mentioned about maternity leaves. Can anyone who is working there please let me know if the maternity leave can be availed normally as per indiabenefits. Thanks.

My husband and I worked together at the same company for a year in different departments and they laid off 25 employees last week. My husband was one of them. 💔
It was dealt with poorly and severance benefits were bad compared to other companies we are seeing in the media. I’m really struggling to move forward and heal. The priority is for me to support him finding a new job but I just feel sick giving my time and energy to this company when they did this to us. any advice for strength😔

The truly rich don’t get hit hard meanwhile it sucks to be an upper middle class family. No matter how much I make somehow my take home seems to keep going down.

Be laid off unexpectedly with an immediate termination date but you have a severance package.

OR

Have three weeks notice the end of your contract is up and won’t be renewed but have no benefits because you’re a contractor?

Currently going through the latter and curious how others who have lost (or will lose) their job would feel.

Has anyone considered making the move to the corporate world? I work in admin for my nonprofit right now so I make a decent amount (53k) my benefits are unbeatable. PTO & sick time PLUS self care days. Flexibility. Etc. the one thing we’re lacking is structure and honestly im burnt out and overwhelmed with my work load and I know I could be getting paid around 10-15k more for similar work. Anyone gone to corporate and regretted it? Loved it?

My “retire” at 42 plan is as follows
-have 500k in my 401k
-house with low taxes paid off
-do not touch 401k until 65
-work to “break even” and not touch 401K in interim
Will I be ok at 65?
