What are the pro and cons of jumping to a smaller consulting firm in DC? Has anyone done this?

Yes and I regret it. I eventually moved back to the big 4 because I realized I needed the resources of a big firm to grow at that point in my career.I was in my 20s, so it could be a different story if you’re farther into your career.

I did for a big pay bump and work/experience more interesting for me

Pro is a more intimate experience and maybe good pay; con is smaller firms have fewer engagements to move to and may not be able to carry you on the bench if work dries up
