The only con of part time MBA is not being able to do an internship. Otherwise in T15 part time programs everything else is same.
I think stern is the only school that doesn’t assist in FT placement.
Booth, Kellogg, Ross gives the same opportunity for FT and PT.
Networking- 5-10 years after graduation, it’s more about which school you graduated from rather than FT/PT. You can reach out to any alumni from the same school and it will be the same.
Your degree says MBA from XYZ school. Not a part time.
If you the means to quit job and do a FT MBA, go for it. Two years time off from work and a fun college experience again. If you cannot quit the job for any reason, go to a top rated PT program.
Many in this bowl will always see a PT program as a worthless degree because many here are H/S or bust cases. They can not justify their FT program if someone from PT gets the same.
PT does not have the same competitiveness and the rat race to get a job. Many pursue it to just further their career in same org and many to pivot, and people on both aisles have been successful.
If someone thinks it’s way easier to get into PT, it is not. It’s relatively easier than FT because the applicant range is narrow, most of them coming from a region where school is based rather than globally. But it’s no Chico state.
Talk to an alumni from a program you are targeting and talk to an adcom 1-1, ask all the questions. Then decide it.
Booth is one of the only schools to publish an average for part time as well. Food for thought
The only pro of part time is cost/being able to keep working at your firm. Everything else full time is better.
Idk about that. I’m currently in the executive program at CBS. Took a few classes with the full times and class discussion were garage compared to the EMBA discussions. Full timers are babies with barely any experience.
Right. Plus the added benefit of a job possibly paying for some of it
