I’ll likely have an interview early next week. The recruiter says it’ll be an introductory call with the co-lead of the firm’s privacy practice group, planning for 30 min or so. I’m a third year and this would be my first lateral so looking for advice on what I should know or ask for during the interview. Will also have a prep call with the recruiter so any tips on what to cover with them would be helpful, too.

What should I expect for an upcoming meeting with a recruiter? The recruiter contacted me on behalf of a firm in my area. The firm is apparently looking for a junior associate (I’m a first year) in my practice group. I wasn’t initially looking to lateral, but this firm would potentially be a huge step up (from a local mid-size firm to a regional branch of an AmLaw 100 matched to Cravath pay scale). Is this recruiter meeting going to be like a mini interview? I am in totally new territory

I may have made a mistake. Early this year I was supposed to do something for a partner. Low-risk stuff, but three total steps. First step took a lot of waiting around for the state to finalize. State finally finalized it end of June. But during all that time, I completely switched my practice group and I had forgotten about this. This randomly came up today, and partner said she will call client for clarification. I haven’t worked with this group for months.
