Pro: perfect for flexible seating Con: can get dirty easily.
I've had a four seater faux leather futon in my class for years. It's been really helpful. I use it for preferential seating, flex seating, rewards, a comfy place to read for students who need a quiet spot, a great place for difficult parent/teacher conferences, and perfect when I've got a kid who isn't feeling well and needs to just lay down. I really didn't have any cons as it was easy to clean. I never used it as a futon, really, but liked that it could have that option if I ever needed more space for more readers.
Do you use your social studies textbook? If so how do you use it?? Do you read aloud to students or have them read it independently ?
